The major networks all distanced themselves from this scandal all about the same time.

If you go back to when this all started up, almost everybody on these networks were badmouthing it, then almost overnight, all the networks distanced from it.

Always struck me as odd, as the stances that the guys on these networks were taking did a complete 180, at the snap of a finger.

might be. of course, Jerry quickly fined Barry 75K for getting in trouble in that off the field incident, and fired him at the end of the season.

Handled pretty well I think.

Faulk is pretty serious about wanting the situation with the Rams Super Bowl investigated.

Thats not the point and you know it. Of course they were going to win the Super Bowl this particular season with or without cheating. The fact is that they tried to cheat ANYWAYS and cheated for years and years.

And isn't it lovely to just say it's nothing but talk until theres proof when you got your buddy commissioner to conveniently destroy all the evidence for you.

(Also, one of the main reasons their team is so incredibly stacked this season is because they got talented players to take pay-cuts because they had won all those championships during the cheating era. Thus giving them an edge already over every other team. But I digress...)

Deion Sanders told Faulk to "let it go", LOL.

Reason? Because the NFL is a 6 billion dollar brand, and the controversy is bad for the league. Ok, there is a good reason to drop it. The mentality of some people is just comical.

Wow is there a problem with Brady taking a paycut to get Moss. I think that shows class. No one complains when Peyton Manning and the Colts do it.

And how do we know this? By the lame a$$ attempt the NFL investigation team did. All the questions that have been brought up are all quite valid. Tom Brady was not interviewed and asked if he used any of the information, the asst coaches were never interviewed to their knowledge, the video tapers were not asked any questions, and they only went back 6 video tapes.

I'm sure if Commish Goodell had the opportunity to rewind the clock and handle this situation a little better he would without hesitation. So to say they didn't cheat this year, is a little tarnished right now IMO.

I knew I shouldn't have mentioned that because you would just ignore everything else. All I'm saying is that Adelius Thomas and Randy Moss took a lot less money to play with the Patriots than they would have to play for say, Cleveland or Green Bay. Much of the reason for this huge advantage the Patriots enjoy is past success - past success which was achieved while cheating.

Who cares if they took a lot less money to play for the Pats. None of these players would come to Philly because every great player you have ever had you have chased out.

As far as Goodell doing anything different he was on tonight and says he would not change a thing. The NFL looked at the tapes and everything that Belichek said was on them was on them. You can say all you want about them being friends and it being a covered up but it wouldnt win you any case in a court of law.

You missed the point. The issue is with the Patriots cheating to achieve their success. With success, you get people willing to play for you at a lower amount of money. It all becomes related, which is why so many people have a big problem with the situation.

People that work for the NFL, or the major sports networks want the story to go away, so they will tip toe around it as much as possible. Why? because bad publicity leads to less revenue, which leads to less money for these guys/gals.

Actually if this were going to court, destroying evidence would become a huge issue, and with the government being involved in this now, it might still end up being a huge issue.

I dont agree with less revenue as the steroid issue did nothing for Baseball this year as they had the best revenue year in years.

I was a huge Nascar fan since the late 70's I had a racetrack in my hometown and watched many Winston cup greats in the modified division. I have been to hundreds of races all over the USA. If you followed Winston Cup and were in the garage you would know that Nascar handed Evernham and Gordan a silver spoon and allowed them to use a gpa system and other equipment in there car that was banned in other teams. This is what drove to nascars popularity in america; Jeff Gordon. Jeff Gordon then went on to win the Winston million in Darlington a race I was personally at. Elliott was leading the race and then they threw a caution for rain; the problem is there was not a cloud in the sky and it was about 120. Of course Gordon caught back up to the pack and won and people threw coolers because it was a fix for more popularity. The dealers actually had Gordan winner diecasts immediately after the race was over because they knew he was going to win. I was irrate but continued to watch. Well Dale Earnhardt was killed at Daytona and then for a tribute at the Pepsi 400 they let Dale Jr win the race. Everyone knew it was fixed and drivers even hinted that they slowed down and allowed him to pass 5 cars on the outside with no help which is impossible. Well I have never watched a race after that because if I wanted to watch some fixed junk I would watch the WWE. You have a choice to what you watch if you think its fixed; then just stop watching.

1) Never said they were friends and that it was a cover up. Said Goodell did a poor job investigating.

2) What would hold up in court is if they did an actual investigation, and if more wrong-doing was found they act on it. Obviously if you have witness (Walsh) that said he was told to video tape certain things. That would hold up in court.

Not saying any of this is accurate or true, but you would think these questions would have been looked into at the time of the accusations.

There was also a home run record being broken.

Wrong. Rather than stop watching, I would rather demand to see things like this in the sport I love following be dealt with properly.

I love football and just because 1 team cheats doesn't mean I'm going to stop and if I want to talk about how that 1 team cheats I will do so.
You are only saying stop watching because your tired of hearing how your team are a bunch of cheaters. Well guess what its not going away so get use to it.

Tell you what. A telling tale on whether the cheating mattered or not will show up 3-4 years down the road.

Since Belichick is such a great coach and since the Patriots are such a perfectly ran organization, I would expect to see them still on top of the NFL, without any more episodes of cheating coming up.

If they fall down to a normal playing level with the rest of the league, then I guess it wasn't a case of being so well run after all.

However, I see Belichick bailing from the team very soon, before the ship sinks from this controversy.
