| Yeah.......That's me! | Two things are very apparent. The Patriots got caught cheating, and that will be a big part of their legacy, and many of their fans think what they did was okay, and it won't be that big of a deal. |

| Outlaw | No one says its ok there is just no proof they did anything in any superbowl and there is no proof they did anything other then week one of this football season. Once there is proof of more then they should be punished but until then they are innocent until proven guilty. |

It's not like the other 31 teams completely changed their playbooks and playing philosophy after this happened, or that the Patriots coaching staff suddenly forgot all they had been studying about other teams. And with the way Goodell tried to sweep this under the rug, why should I think for one second that the Patriots don't still have copies of everything they ever did? Goodell has done nothing in this situation to give anyone a reason to trust him, which is why the government is now involved.

So you're saying the one time they did it they just happened to get caught? That Mangini just made a lucky guess that week? | |||

| Yeah.......That's me! | Not to mention the Pack was warned by the Lions about this activity, and the exact same cameraman got tossed out of Lambeau last year, prompting the NFL to send out memos warning against this activity. But, being a cheater, BB couldn't help it, because cheating is what cheaters do. |

| Outlaw | Any use by any club at any time, from the start to the finish of any game in which such club is a participant, of any communications or information-gathering equipment, other than Polaroid-type cameras or field telephones, shall be prohibited, including without limitation videotape machines, telephone tapping, or bugging devices, or any other form of electronic devices that might aid a team during the playing of a game." Thats the memo and it was actually passed down in 2006. The whole 2007 went away with teams doing it and nothing said. If you read the last line it says for use in the game. The Patriots were not using it for that game so they never cheated ) |

| Outlaw | PHOENIX — As for the cheating, let's be clear about the seriousness of this thing. The Patriots didn't win a game because they stole opposing defensive signals. As Bill Parcells said, a team would have to be pretty stupid to think an opponent isn't trying to steal signals. That stuff has been going on in baseball and football forever. NBA teams know each other's plays so well that a player from one team will sometimes tell a player from another team where he's supposed to go. The Patriots took sign-stealing to the next logical step and, in doing so, broke some rules. It's such a shock that in one of the tapes, an opposing coach can be seen waving at the camera. Goodell emphasized the Patriots won't have a tainted championship if they win Super Bowl XLII. Belichick? He has refused to touch the subject. "Next question," he said early in the week when the matter came up. "That's a league matter," he said Friday. That left his players to answer questions. "We're out there on the front line answering," linebacker Mike Vrabel said, "and we had nothing to do with it." As for Sen. Arlen Specter's decision to ask Goodell to come to Capitol Hill to discuss the matter, it's unclear what his real motives are. What's the motivation here? It could be that Comcast was Specter's second-largest campaign contributor in his last election. Yes, that's the same Comcast at war with the NFL over how it carries the NFL Network. Then again, maybe that explanation would be too simple. Maybe he has seen how much television time his colleagues are getting every time they grill Selig. Maybe Specter wants a little of that action. "There's a credibility issue here," Specter said. Indeed. Nice article from the Houston Chronicle as I said 3 hours ago No one truly cares |

| Yeah.......That's me! | ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reports that if ex-Patriots employee Matt Walsh is in possession of the Rams' walkthrough video from Super Bowl XXXVI, coach Bill Belichick will be suspended for one season. Apparently commissioner Roger Goodell informed Belichick, upon fining him $500,000 and stripping the Patriots of a first-round pick, that a second strike would cost him an entire year. That means Belichick's last game before 2009 could be Super Bowl XLII. Interestingly, the Giants held their walkthrough Saturday, as regularly scheduled. The Patriots did not hold a walkthrough <---------------Gooodell |
