Another Disgruntled Employee

Add Shockey to this list of players that would rather sit out the season than return to their team. Chad, Brian Jason and now this:

Citing a source familiar with the situation, the Newark Star-Ledger reports Jeremy Shockey told the Giants last December that he wanted "a changed role in the offense or a trade to another team."
Shockey allegedly threatened to sit out the upcoming season if neither request was granted. He feels that his career is being cut short by the blocking emphasis installed by head coach Tom Coughlin and believes he was used more effectively under former coach Jim Fassel and offensive coordinator Sean Payton. The last time he sat on the sidelines the Giants... of yeah, ran a gauntlet and won the Super Bowl. He's got them right where he wants them.

I wonder how he feels about his ring, other than about it's value. He and Tiki sure look stoopid.

From everything I've been reading, Alex Smith is still the man though I expect that to be a particularly interesting position battle.

Shockey is an absolute idiot. If the dude wants to be a wide receiver, he needs to lose some weight and learn to run faster. A tight end is going to have blocking assignments, especially when facing teams that run an emphasis on outside pass rushing.

No wonder the team wins more when he isn't on the field.

If he doesn't want to block for the money he's making, I'll take the job for half the price. He can come to my job for a while and then he can have something to really bitch about.

So could we be looking at Kevin Boss as the Giants' starter? Got to say, he looked impressive in the post season and I'd like to see him spend more time on the field whether or not Shock is there.

Rumor has it that Shockey could end up on the Saints come draft day.

Heard that rumor myself. Would be a great fit for that offense....and give Brees a solid TE target.

Still, I wouldn't want Shockey on my team...too much a cry baby or he is hurt too often.

I heard the same thing on NFL network the other night as well. Obviously just speculation, but he was said to have spoken interest in Saints.

To me Shockey is worth a 2nd round draft pick.

TE - Jeremy Shockey
WR - Chad Johnson
WR - Anquan Boldin

Wow...putting together one heck of an NFL all whiner team

I dont know if Id include Urlacher. The guys never been suspended, arrested, or caused any crap for the Bears. He's prime time player on a team that really hasnt made much commitment to get better on offense, and he had his taste of the Super Bowl and lost.

I dont blame him for exploring the chance to move to a contending team, or one that can have a higher number of points than turnovers at the end of the day.
