Bills RB Marshawn Lynch: No Suspension.

  • -- Marshawn Lynch Could be Suspended a Game or Two, But... --
    Wed Jun 11, 2008 --from FFMastermind.com
  • ESPN's John Clayton reports as much as the RB Marshawn Lynch hit-and-run possibilities are bad for the Buffalo Bills, Lynch and the woman who was allegedly hit by his Porsche SUV on May 31, it's not going to change the hopes of Buffalo for this season. Lynch, if found guilty, wouldn't likely serve any jail time as a first-time offender. The league might suspend him a game or two, but he wouldn't lose a season or fall under the Player Conduct Code for this incident. Sure, it's a serious offense. No one is minimizing the severity of a person who leaves the scene of a hit-and-run. Though the injuries were considered minor, the alleged victim would have more of a civil claim against the driver.

Subpoena s for Everybody.

The Marshawn Lynch Hit and Run Investigation has resulted in a flurry of subpoenas. Besides WR James Hardy, the Bills' second-round draft pick, rookie receiver Steve Johnson and second-year offensive lineman Christian Gaddis also were subpoenaed, a law enforcement official familiar with the investigation confirmed to The Associated Press. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because the person is not authorized to release that information.

ESPN - Hardy, Johnson, Gaddis subpoenaed to testify in Lynch hit-and run case - NFL

Bills Shorten Mini Camp

  • -- Lynch's Problems Compel Bills to Cancel Final Minicamp Practice --
    Sun Jun 15, 2008 --from FFMastermind.com
  • Buffalo Bills HC Dick Jauron canceled the final day of Bills minicamp (slated for Friday) because of the police probe regarding RB Marshawn Lynch's alleged involvement in a hit-and-run accident according to PFW. Three players, none of whom is Lynch, as well as chief operating officer Russ Brandon and a member of the team's security staff, have been subpoenaed to testify in front of a grand jury. Jauron felt it would be too difficult for the coaches and players to have a productive session with the case hanging over their heads.

You are doing fine. If it is a new item, just give it a news tag and go with it. If it is on a subject we are already covering, then just post it in that thread.

-- Marshawn Lynch Case Could be Resolved Soon --
Mon Jun 16, 2008 --from FFMastermind.com
The Buffalo News reports there could be significant developments soon … as early as today or Tuesday … in the case of RB Marshawn Lynch, the Buffalo Bills running back whose Porsche SUV was involved in a hit-and-run accident in the Chippewa Street entertainment district. Lynch's attorney, Michael P. Caffery, told The Buffalo News this morning that he hopes to have the case resolved soon, but he declined to comment further. "We'd like to obtain a resolution soon," Caffery said. "I can't say any more than that."

Buffalo might be close to its first winner in years. Lynch is the focal point of that, and Im sure the big money in Buffalo wants this over with, and quick.

Hard to imagine it any other way.

The hot-shot pettifoggers ain't gonna save Marshawn from the Commish except maybe keep his grounding countable on one hand.

Bills RB Lynch Expected To Plead Guilty
Matt Gryta, Buffalo News
According to Erie County District Attorney Frank J. Clark, his office has reached an agreement with Buffalo Bills RB Marshawn Lynch and his attorney that will resolve the investigation of the May 31 incident in which a vehicle driven by Lynch struck a pedestrian. Clark refused to disclose what criminal charge Lynch will face in court. He expects the investigation and prosecution of the traffic offense will be resolved next week. Clark said that after "a great deal of back and forth" negotiations, he and Lynch's attorney, "have reached an agreement in principle." Clark refused to say the nature of the expected misdemeanor or traffic violation that Lynch will be charged with.

Sounds like Lynch is going to come out of this alright. Anyone who had a fantasy draft through these last weeks may have gotten a bargain out of this guy. I saw him go at 2.12 the other night.

Depends on if this is his first issue or not. In this case a fine may be all, then again not cooperating and making this drag out may make Goodell even more pissed.

The organization and Lynch need this to go away and the prosecutor needs something to show he went after "the big guy" without screwing over the team. Expect this to be something very minor, possibly even fine only.

Man, I think this kid is pretty talented. I hope he start to become less of a distraction. I had him on my draft board last season, but my division rival grabbed him before me and I am on the receiving end of his punishment. I worry now everytiume he carries the ball because I will get burned for it. I think he will help rejuvenate the Bills offence for many years to come, I just hope it's not when I play against him.
