This is ridiculous. What is Brett thinking? Green Bay is working hard in the offseason and he comes with this crap. Aaron Rodgers has to be so pissed. He knows the BG faithful want their guy back.
I feel sorry for Rodgers. Not only does he have the highest amount of pressure of any QB in the league, but he has to deal with this crap too.
Go away Brett!!

Maybe he will go to the Falcons since they gave him away.

Packers | Favre update
Wed, 2 Jul 2008 15:00:00 -0700

Updating a previous report, Jason Wilde, of the Wisconsin State Journal, reports retired NFL QB Brett Favre (Packers) contacted the Packers in the past few weeks about returning but the team made it clear they have moved on and Favre asked for his release from the team. The Packers denied the request. Team spokesman Jeff Blumb said head coach Mike McCarthy and general manager Ted Thompson were unavailable for comment because they are on vacation. Blumb said he had no information on the matter.

Sounds like the Pack doesn't want him back and doesn't want him to play for another team.

For as long as Packers fans have stroked Favre it would be crazy to think he doesn't miss it. Particularly in the off-season which has been when Brett gets the majority of his media hand jobs.
My guess is the old lady's got carpel tunnel.

What if Brett actually did want to come back? What do the Packers do then? Would they really want to move backwards with their hero at the helm? The guy can't have much more than 2 good years left in him.
I honestly would like the move of the Packers trading Favre out of the NFC to someone else for some solid draft picks.
You think you still want to play football Brett? Go spend a few years in KC and see if you still want to do this.

If the Favre decided to come back, and the Packers didn't accept him, it would be a PR nightmare that the team might never live down. They would have to release him, effectively letting go the quarterback that gives them the best chance to win.

If that happened, I would be willing to bet he went to division rival Minnesota or Chicago, came back to Lambeau, beat the Packers on their own turf, and most likely win the division with either of those teams.

People would lose their jobs over an insane decision like that. If Favre wants to come back and play, the Packers should welcome him and make another playoff run or two.

-- Favre Working Out; Not Welcomed by Ted Thompson --
Thu Jul 3, 2008 --from FFMastermind.com
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports regarding the news that retired QB Brett Favre is considering a comeback, a Packers spokesman said Wednesday: "The Packers have no reaction." Most of Lambeau Field's front office was deserted, from president Mark Murphy to GM Ted Thompson to HC Mike McCarthy. All were on vacation and could not be reached for comment. But Favre's family did speak out Wednesday to Milwaukee TV stations, revealing one new development and reinforcing a long-held sentiment: first, that Favre is working out, and second, that he might not have felt welcomed anymore by Thompson. Favre's brother, Scott, told WTMJ-TV that Favre was working out and that the odds were fair for Favre's return. "I think it's 50-50," Scott Favre said. "There's no doubt he can play. He's in good shape, he's working out, we know he can still play, he's healthy, so, if he did, it wouldn't surprise me." Favre's mother, Bonita, told WITI-TV that Favre felt Thompson was less than enthusiastic about keeping him around for another year, something Favre's inner circle has expressed for some time. "He's felt like that for the last couple of years, that the Packers didn't really want him back," said Bonita Favre. "But nothing's been said. You know it's just been bits and pieces throughout the last couple of years, things that would come up, and it just didn't seem like they went out of their way to keep him. It was kind of like, 'You're done.' " Favre's agent James "Bus" Cook did not return messages but downplayed a possible comeback to ESPN. "As far as I know, right now, Brett Favre is retired and until he tells me something different, that's what it is," Cook said. One thing is clear. The door on whether Favre could return to the field in 2008 has been kicked wide open. "I know he has the itch to come back and play," CB Al Harris told ESPN's "NFL Live." Harris said. "If he will or not, I don't know."

Oddly enough, I was listening to Mike & Mike this morning and they are saying the same thing as me in regards to him possibly going to a division rival if he isn't welcomed back to Green Bay.

If he does come back, and Green Bay does indeed reject him, it has all the making for a huge PR nightmare for the Packers.

I am a Packer fan, but I am also a huge fan of the Norse. I would a very hard time not rooting for Favre if he played for the Vikings or the Bears. The only problem with those two teams is the system they play in. Favre would fit better as a Buc for Gruden.

I refuse to believe the pack would not welcome him back if he's serious. #4 gives you a legit shot at a super bowl run this year. No way do you see favre playing for another team!

I have to agree 100%

I just can't see the Packers truly not welcoming Favre back if this is serious.

I believe the Packers are thinking about the future and not about 08. Brett Favre actually hurts their future prospects of winning if he comes back. He slows their QB development another year or 2 and kills any off season momentum they have been building. I think the city of Green Bay is actually ready to let their hero rest and usher in the new generation of Packer football.
Brett needs to stay retired.
