Two other Jacksonville receivers haven’t been as fortunate.

Jerry Porter, who signed a six-year, $30 million contract in February, had surgery to repair a torn hamstring and will miss at least the entire preseason. Reggie Williams had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Friday, and Del Rio said he will miss two or three weeks."
This raises the value of Jones if it means he'll be the only guy, but by how much do you guys think? I can see him now as a low #3 reciever.

Still undraftable to me. But this one of those things you want to make sure your league mates see.

Sleeper perhaps? Or do you trust a guy like Jones at all?

Are we talking rosters of 36 or more? Maybe.

But when Porter and Willams are back, Jones will be the WR4 on his own team - if he isn't cut. Add in it being a run heavy team, and I just don't see the point of drafting him. If reports on him remain positive enough for you, there's always the waiver wire.

He slipped by a disinterested Drayton Florence and caught a 19 yard TD pass from David Gerrard, proof the sun shines on every dog's ass sometime.
This is nothing to get excited about. Jones most likely will not make the 53 man roster and is trying to put on a show hoping to be claimed by a team in need of a reciever.

Check out the first round/second round talent on the Jags:
Troy Williamson, 1.07 South Carolina/Vikes
Reggie Williams, 1.09 Washington/Jags
Matt Jones, 1.21 Arkansas/Jags
Dennis Northcutt, 2.01 Arizona/Browns
Jerry Porter, 2.16 West Virginia/Raiders

I don't understand how Garrard looks like a good fantasy QB.

The Jags don't need to pass, should never pass, and if they do pass, it should always be by accident.

MJ, he looks good because you know what your going to get. 230 yards, 1.5 TDs on average and no turnovers. He is consistent, and until every WR of any value at all went down, he looked like he could get that up to 260 and 2 every game.

With Garrard it depends on your scoring system, I suppose. In a system that only gives the QB 4 pts for a TD and also takes away 2 points for every int he is a solid starter. The bigger the size of the league the more valuable he is in that format. He may not carry your team to victory every week but he won't tube you azz at the QB position either.

No way he is a 260 and 2 guy. He was at 209 and 1 last year and he had a GREAT year. I just don't see him throwing over 4000 yards or 30+ TDs.

Stop skimming the posts and read them.

You find where I said he WAS a 260 and 2 guy. I said he had that POTENTIAL.

True, Jones value won't elevate that much. But you may get Williams or Porter even cheaper as a result.

Sorry for skimming. I just don't see the potential for 260 and 2 out of a guy who averages 151 per game for his career. He topped out at a whopping 209 last year. WHEEEEEEE.
