Updated: Falcons name Matt Ryan opening day starter

Matt Ryan will start the Falcons' third preseason game and play into the third quarter.

Unless Ryan fails miserably, this is a strong indication that he'll be Atlanta's starter on opening day.

I am guessing that Ryan did more than necessary to claim the game 1 start.

I know a certain member here will be very happy that his TD pass went to none other than Harry Douglas, LOL

If Ryan indeed gets the job, I think it helps the running game, and helps the offense overall.

From all I have seen, he is hands down better than Redman, who is only on this roster, and probably only in the NFL right now because his college coach gave him the job and taylored the offensive plays around his limited talent last year.
