DEs Going Down/ Umenyiora and Taylor -- Osi out for season

NYG DE Osi Umenyiora and Redskins DE Jason Taylor both left their respective games with knee injuries. X-rays showed no real damage in both cases but they will both receive MRIs. While these injuries aren't season threatening any knee injury at this point may cause them to miss some games. We will have a better idea after the MRI results.

I just seen Osi's knee buckle on sportscenter, that didn't look good at all.

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that Osi Umenyiora will need surgery on his injured knee and miss the entire 2008 season.

Mike said it looked bad on replay. The Giants were really evasive at first.

The Redskins said it was a sprain with Taylor right off the bat.

Well, that as they say is that. They are going to have to make some movements on the defense now. Probably sit the guy they moved to LB last year back down at end.

Taylor sounds like he will miss a couple of weeks.

The Newark Star-Ledger and NFL Network both report that Giants DE Osi Umenyiora will undergo season-ending surgery on his left knee a day after suffering serious ligament damage vs. the Jets, and that he is expected to miss the 2008 season. The paper adds that Umenyiora considered short-term rehab but opted for surgery since that's better for his long-term outlook.

This pretty much sinks their pass rushing ability off the line. This costs them at least 3 losses this season.

Sources reportedly close to Strahan have said he probably won't come back.

The man does have his legacy to consider. last year with Osi he looked pretty good. This year without Osi maybe he wouldn't look so good.

My backup is Glenn Dorsey. How much trouble am I in there?? lol.

I suppose it's a little worse for the NY Giants than it is for me though...
