Rudi is who I was talking about, though his speed isn't what the one cut offense is all about. I still feel that you have way more questions in the running game then with cutler and the passing game.

Would make zero sense to just release Rudi Johnson. But of course, it is the Bengals. He's had an outstanding off-season, probably just lighting a little fire under Rudi.

Rudi would be the guy that ends up in Houston. Bye bye Ahman Green.

You have to be honest, and admit that you could have done a little better with that roster spot over the past few years.
no, I'm not going to admit that, it's not true. Dynasty leagues are about potential, and if I can stash Perry away at the end of a large roster, I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Not to mention in IR leagues I just simply moved him there. It was actually very easy to stash him away. In re-draft leagues or small keeper leagues, sure, he's not been worth stashing, but in a dynasty league only the short sighted gave up on him IMO.

.....or you could have just picked him up again late last year, or the year before that. he was not one of those commodities that was being followed by anybody but a diehard Bengals fan.

But why risk it? You'd be surprised who dynasty leaguers will snatch up and stash away. In fact, the only league I don't have him in is a full IDP dynasty where the owner has done the same thing, and wouldn't let him go. Hell, he even protected him as part of his 40 fully protected this past year (and b/c I know you'll ask, he's a TB fan, not a Bengals diehard).

He was being followed by the savey, not just the Bengals diehards.

Chris Mortenson reports that it is ACTUALLY raining cats and dogs in Cincy.

Not sure what this means, but I don't think I like the sound of it. To me this would signal two things: 1) Chad's injury is indeed more serious then they are letting on. 2) They know there is a good shot they are not resigning TJ next season.

Okay, so many topics in this thread.

Issue with Chad - it has now been released he has a partially torn labrum. He can play with it, but take a wrong hit and he could be out for the season. He will play with a brace...similar to what others have done. It is PART of why Brown wanted Henry back. It is also why the friggen Bengals need to get Housh very happy.

Issue with Rudi - there are some I believe that feel Rudi is starting to break down. With that is the fact that Rudi has a huge cap number associated with him. So if they could deal him....they would free up some cap space ( to sign Housh???) and also allow Watson to be the other half of the Perry RBBC. At no point do the Bengals feel Perry can be a work horse back all year. They know they need another Rb...and Watson has just performed each time he has been asked to.

Perry - as called out his talent is huge. He is a good sized Rb who has speed to go outside but also can power inside. He is an excellent receiver( 51 receptions in 2005) and has also done well in blocking. He is not an every down back though...so you have to have another guy that can split carries. Rudi or Kenny can do that in Cincy. But with Perry there...you make that offense a whole lot less predictable...and also add in Utecht and it is even more unpredictable in a two TE set.

He had some at the begining of camp but right now he is just suffering from a case of not looking so great in the preseason

housh should play the final preaseason game. I also heard that Jordan may play in the final preseason game. There saying he hasnt been playing because of health related issues. I think he was insurance in case someone else went down but everyone else is healthy.

I think the bigger story in New England right now is will Brady play week ? Let the rumors fly

huh? He hasn't played in a preseason game and was hurt during week 1 of TC. Monday was his first practice back, so I think it's a bit early to say he hasn't looked good since he hasn't been on the field. Sounds like he will see his first action on Thursday night.

Very true Miller. Its difficult to look good when all your doing is drinking Gatorade on the bench.

Perhaps Norm was speculating as most Cincy fans that TJ's injury dragged out way too long....say in argument over his contract situation?
