Sorry for the confusion. I think Housh will be fine. I haven't really worried about his contract or injury issues much at all. I think he will be ready to go and produce well when the season starts. I do think with Chads injury issues that they have been purposely keeping him on the backburners for safekeeping, so to speak.

I am old and must admit that I don't keep up with all the newest nicknames and abreveology. When I see TJ I don't think of Housh. I think of NY Jets RB Thomas Jones. I am more worried about Thomas Jones at this point than Housh as far as fantasy impact goes. Housh will be fine but Thomas Jones I am not so sure about. Obviously, I need to start a Thomas Jones thread.

Watch Thursday Nights Pre Season game vs The Colts. Apparently Rudi Johnson will play and have the chance to win the starters spot with an impressive performance. It will be Rudis first pre season action and a chance to prove "he's a better ballplayer"

The same thing is out there for Jordan also. He will be in the next preseason game to see if he will make the team. He admitted that he has been nagged by an injury and that is why he hasnt played in the last two preseason games.

Unless the injury is severe, I cannot see the Patriots cutting him. When he practices they all say he is very impressive. I guess we will see soon enough.

No, TJ's contract ends this year. He will be a UFA, so expectation is they may tag him. He has been the good soldier and not made it an issue..but alot of folks are speculating he has missed most of camp and Pre-season games on this "injury" due to the contract issue as a silent protest.

Rumors are flying they are using this to showcase him to other teams to get trade value. FYI

Well, it seems a lock now that Rudi is gone. Whether by trade or Cut I think you won't see Rudi in a Cincy uniform. He says he is healthy, but he did not play at all in the final pre-season or for that matter any pre-season game.

Bye Rudi Hello Perry (for as long as you stay healthy...)

As a Bengals fan I hate to see him go. Rudi has always been a class act, and one of the good guys on the team. Hate to hear him state the things he did yesterday, but in the end, I agree, he's gone.

Now, as a fantasy fan who has Perry in 7 of 8 leagues....

With Kevin Faulk facing a 1 game suspension, It is doubtful Lamont Jordan will be cut. At least for another week )

I'm hearing they are a bit concerned with Perry's pass blocking and Palmer getting killed. This is a very weird situation in Cincy. Stay Tuned, because it will come in to focus real soon.

Not sure about them, but I'm damn sure worried about Perry's pass block against the bliz, he's struggled to pick it up, but so has the O-Line.

Here is the recent article on Rudi off bengals.com

News - Rudi: Stay tuned - Cincinnati Bengals

Hey, I just had a thought, and this is PURE SPECULATION on my part.

What if Bengals were to trade Rudi Johnson to Houston, and get Walters in return at Wr? It would supposedly help a very merky situation at Rb for Houston...and Walters is a former Bengal and familiar with the offense. Things to make you go HMMMMMM.....

sure, like HMMM why would the bengals trade a competent rb for a wr that is just good enough to get cut the second he fumbles or makes a mistake any time in his entire career?

Where in the heck is that opinion from? Kevin Walters had a pretty decent year for Houston as the #2 wr, and was a great sticks mover while in cincy. Just curious why the sudden negative feedback on him?

**edit** oh, and by competant...do you mean able to sit a bench well??

Maybe Cincy could pick up Joe Horn. He'd be cheap, and may have some familiarity of the offense through his work with Hue Jackson.

haha fair enough. i just dont feel like walter is worth much of a crap, but i admittedly havent seen him play much. but maybe neither is rudi at this point of his career.

Interesting Take by Mo on thelotD.com

SOME RUDI THOUGHTS
We talked a lot about Rudi today. My question is simply this:
How could anyone express any confidence about Rudi Johnson's ability to be productive and how could one make the case that he's more productive than the other running backs currently on the roster?
The fact that the O-line sucks right now doesn't mean that we don't have this discussion. So the Bengals shouldn't retain a tailback? Just let anyone carry it? Pull Harold Green out of retirement and lug it 30 times a game? I know the line sucks. They still have to make a decision at running back.
Chris Perry isn't what I'd call "reliable." He's been hurt. I get it. But I've seen him play football this year. He's looked good. Not Corey Dillon againt Denver good, but good. In a year where Rudi, according to his coach had something to prove, he has proven what? That his uniform fits?
Kenny Watson is a backup running back. He's never going to be a workhorse back, but he's a steady backup. And he can catch balls out of the backfied. Rudi isn't a workhorse back and his cap value exceeds $4 million. Kenny makes less than a million.
DeDe Dorsey has issues too. He's fumbled a lot in camp. He's had injury issues. He also helps on special teams. He's also shiftier. Special teams help and shifty aren't words often associated with Rudi J.
Really, at this point, can you convince me that Rudi is more productive or cost effective than James Johnson?
We're not exactly sorting through a bunch of future hall of famers here, but Rudi isn't close to being the best option.
Cutting Rudi is would be a $2 million dollar cap hit. You and I know Mike doesn't want to take it, but would he rather take it or pay Rudi the full $3.2 mill (the cap value is actually around 4.9) to be a backup?
Of course this assumes Mike doesn't make Marvin install Rudi as the starter next week, which if that happens any shred of credibility this team has left is shot.
This may sound like a rip job of Rudi. It's not. I love the guy. Top ten favorite Bengal of all-time. He has a special place in this team's history as the featured back when this team became relevant. And if they keep him, I want him to have a huge year. If he goes elsewhere, I'd love to see him have a productive season, but you're just going to have a tough time convincing me Rudi is worth keeping around at this point.
