Sit the entire Bengals offense against a Ravens defense that is about as banged up as you can get?? Rolle, McAlister, & Reed are all banged up. As banged up as the Bengals offense is, the Ravens secondary is in much worse shape. Add to this the fact that Palmer historically has put up very good numbers against the Ravens, even when they were one of the top D's in the league, and I think this is a much better match-up for the Bengals starters then your giving them credit for. I'd expect some rust, but in the end, I think you'll be OK with your Bengals starters this week.

I also suspect the Lions and Falcons defensive units won't be quite as accommodating to Smith and Turner as you might think. They were pretty brilliant through the preseason.

I like Utecht this week, and agree with you on Palmers success vs the Ravens.

I have more confidence in the Bengals D going up against the Ravens O than I have in the Ravens D going up against the Bengals O. New QB + new coach = Good fantasy pts. in week 1 for the Bengals D.

haha i can see im outnumbered here. like i said, you only bench the bengals if youve got other options, not just for the sake of benching them. i just think there are better players to be had this week.

Wow, hit the nail right on the head about the Bengirls. Too bad I ignored the advice and started Ocho and Housh this week.

From my blog:

Carson Palmer was a mess. No other way to put it. The line failed to give him any kind of comfort zone and due to it if I didn't know better it was his play that looked like a rookie in his first start. Somewhere along the line he has lost the fundamentals that made him one of the more promising QB's in the league. He footwork is that of a mediocre college QB at this point. he is running scared and is not planting his feet anytime he has any kind of pressure around him. HE'S PLAYING SCARED! You simply can not do that in this league and have success.
That was Ugly! Bengals Week one in review. - Sports Outlaw Fantasy Football Forums

Pretty much sums it up.
