Ricky Williams vs Ronnie Brown: Week 1

[05:51 PM] Coachnorm Not only was Brown very effective with a dozen carries but he also suffered no setbacks. The word is that it may end up being a much closer split than originally thought [05:48 PM] Coachnorm But Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown had 12 carries for 47 yards with a touchdown during the team's preseason finale [05:47 PM] Coachnorm It sounded like the Dolphins were going to start the season with Brown on a strict carry count of about a dozen carries.

With both Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown possibly spliting carries nearly equally what is the fantasy impact? It could make both of them less worthy of starting on your fantasy team. The recent turn of events does have to make Ricky Williams a little less attractive of a start then he seemed just a short while ago. But consider the Dolphins line has looked very good during the preseaon as well as the backs behind them. You could have both of them putting up a 60-80 yard performance with a TD apiece.

Norm, Brown might play and he might see a dozen carries, but you can all but guarantee that Williams will receive two or three times that many.

Bomb, tell you what, I have an extra couple thousand I'm willing to put on that. You willing to answer? But, before you take me up on that, I have to remind you what happened the last time you dogged one of my teams.... Rooock Chaaalk Jaaayhaaawk, Kaaay Yooouuu!

So , DD, you say the count is still on for Brown. That would still be the logical thing to do. Been reading some of the Dolphins beat writers stuff and they are probably just getting excited for the season.

Is it possible to see Ricky in the Julius Jones roll with Ronnie cast as the Barbarian?

I think Ricky would walk off the field if he was put in that position.

Really?

I think Ricky is on the hook, line and sinker. His mind is made for Tuna salad, with constant awareness of expectations and validations.

No room for confusion. Is you is, or is you ain't my baby?

Williams would dress in a tutu and tiara if The Tuna told him to. No reason necessary.

Ricky will start. Ricky will get the bulk of the carries. More then likely, he will get at least 20, but probably closer to 25 carries. Ricky could very easily go off for 80 to 100 yards and he could punch one in from more the 10 yards out. But of the Dolphins somehow get inside of the 10, I would look for Brown to step in. He's not going to get more then 10 to 12 carries. And unless he breaks one, probably around the 50 yard mark at best. But if they are going to punch it in from the goalline, then it will probably be Brown doing it.

I guess the question here is, do you have enough faith in the Dolphins offense to get close enough for Brown to punch one in, or are you willing to take the yards and carries because you don't think they will be able to sniff the endzone.

If I had to choose, Id flip a coin.

Actually I was thinking a simple couple thousand. I want to keep 40,000 in reserve for the ROY bet.

Ricky Sticky Icky should get a lot of carries this week. I'm curious to see if its the NFL Ricky, the CFL Ricky or the Yoga training and hanging out in Australia Ricky that shows up this year.

Looks like this will be a good running back tandem if both can stay healthy.
