What are your opinions on Chris Henry this week?

Forget what all the other websites are copy/pasting from news sources and using as opinions....

What do you guys think about Chris Henry this week? Does he play? will he end up virtually being the #3 guy immediately in week 5? Better numbers than Chad Johnson?

I am finalizing the initial cheatsheets and I keep getting stuck with this guy. I can't help but feel this guy is going to get on the field and produce in his first game back.

I don't see a lot from him, he may get loose for a long TD, but that would require the team to take a shot deep, something they have not done much of this season. He'll work the #3 gig with Chatman, but won't see enough time this week IMO to warrant a look. I'd keep him on the bench for sure.

I agree with Mike, and he is going to help those of us who own Housh.

Chad Johnson is a dead stick. Teams can afford to one on one him, or one on one with a "shadow" because chances are he cant catch anyway. Henry immediately opens up the offense and allows the Bengals to get him in favorable one on ones with slower linebackers or safeties.

He wont disappoint.

So you think that Henry will help Housh? What kind of points are you predicting that Housh will have? In an advise thread I was looking at Housh and trying to decide who to bench and who to start. I have Housh, Roddy White, Ike Hilliard, Reggie Wayne and Calvin Johnson (pending trade). I was going to sit Housh and Hilliard and start Reggie Wayne, Roddy White and Calvin Johnson. If Housh produces I'd be happy, but I can't see him being started over any of the other WRs I have this week.

I think that Henry is a #3 WR. If you have a flex position, I think he's a solid start. I tend to think that Chad will have more opportunities with Henry in. Even more than that though, it is going to depend on if Carson Palmer is playing or not I believe.

Absolutely I do. Chad Ocho Cinco is averaging just over 2 receptions for 26 yards in 4 games this season. He has scored 1 TD. He's wounded and cant catch.

Chris Henry is a healthy and fresh body to throw into the lineup with blazing speed to boot. He, unlike CJ at this point, is a serious concern when he is on the field, and has to be accounted for. His presence alone opens up the field for Housh to some extent.

I cant tell you numbers, but I see more consistent scoring coming from TJ.

Fair enough Sgt. I haven't watched a Bengals game since the beginning of the season, and I remember seeing Chad with the double teams and not Housh. That is the only reason I ask. I mean, if lately it's been Housh getting the double teams, then Henry will obviously free Housh up more. Because of what I saw, I just thought that it would be Chad being freed up. Now if only he can catch.

Im not saying Chad isnt getting doubled, but you really only have to seriously commit one defender to him. You can leave the other formerly committed double guy to shadow and watch the field more than anything else. He cant catch the ball well right now, so the risk is less and you can have more options with the secondary.

Of course at this point we are all kicking ourselves over the high picks we spent on this great offense......

is Henry worth picking up even though Carson Palmer is beat up and the offense as a whole hasn't been very productive?

We here at Sarge industries blame some of the Bengals offensive failures on the lack of a second healthy WR.

Palmer will heal....and lets be honest, if your picking up Henry to be a starter in small to mid sized leagues youve got issues aplenty to begin with.

I'm in a 12 team league. I lost Colston, who was my #1. I'm not planning on inserting him into my starting lineup right away. Just wondering if he's worth keeping. I have Breaston sitting right now. I could drop Breaston to pick up Kevin Curtis and have him sit. Or I could pick up Henry and have him sit.

I wouldnt start Roddy White if I were you (and I have white on my team and am not starting him). His matchup against GB passing D is pretty stiff.. Prolly wont break 50yrds

Please understand, this is MY PERSONAL VIEW. I have nothing as fact..just my opinion.

First if you start ANY wr vs. Dallas, it would be Housh. Period. Chad is hurt, and he is not up to full potential.

Second, I won't be surprised if once Henry is fully back and up to speed, Chad gets time off for injury...possibly IR. I think one reason chad isn't being chad is he doesn't have full range of motion on his shoulder. He can't go up for the jump ball, and reach out and snag the ball...letting it come into his body instead. Again, this is just my OPINION.

I also think if Henry keeps clean, and produces...Chad is gone next year...and Housh gets resigned. They then need one of the young guys they drafted to step up....most probably Caldwell.

As for Henry this week.

If he really is up to speed and plays...he could be a heck of a sleeper. Dallas has a solid defense, but DBs are not great..and with best Dbs going after Housh and Ocho Cinco.....he can get free for long scores. However, if Fitzgerald is starting at QB...NO wrs are worth starting against Dallas.

Palmer looks like he is fine, and it appears that Chris Henry will play, and be a factor in the offense this week. Getting some praise from the head coach that didn't want him back

John Clayton of ESPN does not believe Carson Palmer will be ready to participate in Sunday's game at Dallas due to his ailing right elbow.

The Bengals have a one-week roster waiver allowing Henry to practice without being added to the active roster. He worked out with the scout team on Wednesday, playing the part of Dallas receiver Terrell Owens against the Bengals' starting defense. Coach Marvin Lewis said the team will decide later in the week whether Henry plays Sunday in Dallas. As of noon they have not cleared a roster spot.

Edwards declared him as ready today after practice. Said he is hitting every throw without any problems.
