Oakland Raiders - Post Kiffin - How will this team do?

Now that Lane Kiffin is on (Dead Horse beaten in to ground), what is in store for the rest of the season under Tom Cable?

Luckily, the Raiders have time adjust with the bye week to Cable.

New head coach Tom Cable says that the offensive gameplan will be more aggressive, meaning they will be at least attempting to utilize a vertical passing game.

In terms of fantasy, if this works at all, Javon Walker's value has to come up, not that it could drop much more than it already has.

Oakland has been close, could easily have a winning record if they had the ability to finish a game.

Is this going to be a positive change for the remainder of the season? Do you think Cable can do a well enough job to remain the head coach in 2009?

Is Davis on the sideline now? Just kidding. They could go either way. They might be more relaxed and just play football from this point on. Or, like Sarge said, thinking that they are doomed just go down the tubes.

Personally, I think the atmosphere will be more relaxed now and this team goes for broke. If Cable can do for the rest of the team what he did for the o-line, I think they are in great shape.

No need for doom and gloom, if they fail, they fail. I am still a fan and I will still watch.

I think they continue with what works - a lot of running. But I would imagine time outs will be used when they should and I suspect a reduction in 75 yard field goal attempts.

In other words, the coaching can't get any worse that what it was, LOL.

It is hard to say how they will do until we see how Jamarcus Russell can do actually throwing the ball downfield to his wideouts. He has the arm to do it, now we see if he has the head to do it successfully.

I think we will see an improved team.

I fall in to the more relaxed playing better side of the coin.

The Raiders will run, run, and run some more. They will not be more relaxed IMO, who can be relaxed with Crazy Al running around?? This team has some talent, but they also are a disorganized mess with a crazy man running the show. Cable will try to bring a toughness the team is lacking, and they will win 5-6 games this season. But they are still a mess overall.

Read an article where Kiffin called Russel on the phone and helped him break down the Saints Defense.

Like him or not, thats a hell of a man to do that.

hell of a man, or someone that doesn't know how to quit meddling. I hope he has the coaches blessing in sending these messages, if not, he doesn't need to be interfering with the players on the team.

It will be odd if they go this route, given what Cable said about playing more aggressively on offense.
