Ok, most will agree it is down to

1. Vince Young (slight lead in most people's minds)
2. Reggie Bush
3. Matt Leinart

Bush is losing votes to Matt Leinart. After the Fresno State game, Bush may have helped his cause. The guy is putting up huge numbers.

Who is your favorite to win it right now?

Sorry to burst your bubble Mojo but I think it should go to no other than Reggie Bush. Matt Leinart has been getting votes but I think after this weekend those votes are going to start to go to Bush. The man is an absolute beast and yeah Vince Young is having a nice year but he's also playing a cupcake schedule with no dramatic moments. This guy has been coming up when it counts.

Dude, your not bursting anyone's bubble, this is judging by polls and surveys that I have been checking out over the past month or so. The general consensus has Young winning.

I think that changes after yesterday. It is clear that Reggie Bush is the best college football player in america.

Bush will win the Heisman and be a great athlete in the NFL. I'm thinking about targeting him in my fantasy drafts next year.

I would almost put money on Vince Young getting this. Young has one more game against the Aggies to put up another good showing.

I have to admit, what Bush did last week, should win him the Heisman. My guess is it will be Bush, then Young then a distant third for Leinart

Young has done plenty, and he is THE reason the Longhorns are undefeated.

In big games, he has played outstanding games.
  • Young took the Ohio State game over - in the horeshoe (currently #6 in the BCS, that would be ahead of that almighty Fresno State)
  • Texas Tech - played an amazing game. (currently #16 BCS, better than that almighty Fresno State)
Texas is putting every team away, and punishing them heavily in the process. All of this is happening at the hands of Vince Young, and he has performed at this level in every game of the year. Lets not even get started on a "Vince Young has done nothing" debate.

by the numbers

Vince Young
  • 2414 passing yards - 22 Touchdown Passes
  • 774 rushing yards - 8 touchdowns
  • 506 combined yards - 4 touchdowns against Oklahoma State. That was a come from behind performance where they trailed at halftime against a team that always plays them close.
  • Total yards - 3188
  • Total Touchdowns - 30
  • Those my friend, are heisman quality numbers.
Reggie Bush
  • 1398 rushing yards, 13 rushing touchdowns
  • 383 receiving yards, 2 receiving touchdowns
  • 1781 total yards, 15 total touchdowns
  • 362 combined yards, 2 touchdowns against Fresno State
  • Playing behind a heisman candidate Quarterback, does that hurt his numbers, or help him get them easier?
Both are deserving players, but you are not going to win a bar room arguement with a Vince Young supporter, and the same goes for a Reggie Bush supporter.

In the end, Leinart is going to get some Reggie Bush votes, and Vince Young put up simply amazing numbers, and did what nobody does. He put up great numbers and took over a game against Ohio State (BCS #6 and climbing), at the horseshoe.

As far as the cupcake next week, this goes back to being a rivalry game. The Aggies will put out their best effort against the Longhorns, you can bet on that.

Doesnt matter...Vince Young playing Poopy Tech every week and running up the score on vastly inferior teams is not heisman performances in my opinion. Reggie Bush has played in nothing but big games all year long with USC being down several times and this last performance is just the end. He clinched the Heisman with that. He does everything. He catches passes, he runs, he returns kicks. Without Reggie Bush the Trojans have 2 losses. Meanwhile I think with Chris Simms the argument could be made that Texas could still be undefeated. Thats how sorry their schedule has been.

Not even worth arguing at this point then. The rankings dont lie, and Texas has beaten the current BSC #6 and destroyed the BCS #16. Call them crap teams if you want, but most will disagree with you.

Bring a better arguement, I will continue, but that post isnt worth me waisting my time.

Theyve beaten one good team and one decent team. Nothing great there. But the fact is Vince Young has not done anything other than the one OSU game to show that he is the best college player in the country. Sorry going off against Rice and Baylor isn't impressive. Meanwhile Reggie Bush has basically carried this team against the poor competition AND against the good competition AND in situations where they are in dog fights. Not only that he does everything...run, catch, return kicks. Considering the fact that he is already on a great team a team with a Heisman winner and he is showing all of them up speaks volumes.

See, I knew you could do better than "poopy tech"

I don't think you give enough credit to what Vince Young did against Ohio St. Nobody does that against them.

We will know the answer soon enough. And as long as one of these two guys get the trophy, I dont think there will be much of an uproar either way.

Well I was going to say caca tech but I forget you probably dont know what caca means.

But I think there would be an uproar if Young wins it...he simply doesnt deserve it over Reggie Bush. How Reggie Bush doesnt win this award is beyond me. There is no way he doesnt win it. Dude had over 500 total yards by himself. I wouldnt be surprised if not only that he wins it but wins it by a big margin.

We will have to hold a heisman vote here in a couple weeks.

Who should I put in the vote? Young, Bush, Leinart.... Give me two more.

No thats enough...no one else matters.

By the way for the record...NFL network was talking about the heisman race and the guy said and I paraphrase: "if you are a heisman voter and you vote for anyone else other than Reggie Bush then your heisman voting option should be revoked."

I liked that.

After what Bush has done all year in the big games and what he did last Saturday night in another big game - he wins hands down. Young is good, but Bush is great.
