Anyone else heard the rumor that the Browns are considering moving KW2 to wide receiver? Don't know if they are considering this in certain situations or full-time.

Makes some sense in the redzone. However, look for more playing time from Frisman Jackson, Joshua Cribbs, Northcutt and Rideau; especially if Antonio Bryant leaves as a UFA and Braylon Edwards doesn't make it back by the season opener. Supposedly his surgery was just completed and they're concerned about him being ready.

That is the first I have heard about Winslow being moved to tight end. I am sure the Browns would just love to have Winslow out on the field anywhere at this point.

What ever came of the story about Winslow possibly having to give some of his signing bonus back?

If the surgery was just completed, he won't be ready at the start of camp. I had similar surgery last June and I'm able to run, climb a ladder, and ride a bike, but I have not tried cutting or starting-stopping stuff yet -- not that I'm likely to, after all I'm over 50 and my athletic career is behind me.
If the surgery was just completed, that signals bigger problems for young Kellen. Why would they wait this long to complete it?

His contract was renegotiated with the Postons. Some money was given back, but there are incentives and it was lengthened. In other words, his losses will be minimal. He stays happy and that's important. He's living in Cleveland year round and working-out under team scrutiny.

He's been running stadium steps with no brace. Looks a little thin, but really quick. I was surprised when I saw him on a news clip.

once you get Kellen Winslow out on the field with Braylon Edwards you have some deadly weapons there. Kellen tore his ACL so dont expect him to be full speed next year.

Winslow's already running about 1/2 speed. It's Braylon Edwards who may not be ready for the start of next season.

Yeah the Chosen One will be ready to play but I dont think he will be 100% himself till the following season. It usually takes a year to get back to your old form.

Definitely agree. Plus he has to bulk-up again. He looked really skinny! Couldn't believe how he was running up the steps at Browns' Stadium. -especially with no brace. I couldn't move that good for six months; and I only had cartilage removed.

LOL!!! yeah its amazing these guys really work hard. But yeah he has to bulk up after sitting around doing nothing for such a long time. He'll be fine though.

Hope you're right. He took a lot of flack for his "soldier" comment when he was a Hurricane! His father and the Postons haven't helped his image in Cleveland either.

Moving Winslow to WR was an idea that I had proposed when we first drafted him. He has a slim build that seems more like a fit at the WR position. I would still like to see him and Braylon on the field at the same time. If we ever see them both reach their potential together, our offense will be very scary.

Would you go after a TE, if someone special is available day two? There's some decent ones available this year and the Browns could end-up losing Shea. Also, Heiden had a decent season, but gets hurt every year.

Like I said, his rehab will take a long time to complete. I doubt if he'll be ready to play until after the season starts.

It depends on the injury and the individual. I've seen guys come back in less than a year like they've hardly missed a beat but a lot of people need a minimum of a year. Also, considering the age and the time and resources for rehabilitation that's available, I'd hope he'd heal a little quicker than you Catman .

It's been about 11 months since he decided to play Evil Knievel, and I'm betting, unless they're holding something back on the seriousness of the injury, that he'll be be at full go by the time fall camp opens.
