| Baseball "Expert" Premium Member Moderator | Why not? He has absolutely nothing left to prove in college. If he is comfortable with the move, its probably a good decision. This gives the Texans another option for their #1 pick. They could trade Carr for a usable offensive lineman and a couple of picks and rebuild their team around Young.

| who me? Admin | I know that one of the teams who will target Young is Tennessee. I really dont want to see him there unless the team can get some receivers, but to be able to learn under his mentor would probably be a good situation. |

| who me? Admin | Vince Young Quarterback - Texas
My view - Vince Young is THE most talented player in this years draft. I think whoever takes him (very likely the Titans in a trade up) needs to allow him to sit for a majority of his rookie season, possibly letting him get some occasional game time in series by series situations. Another year in college to futher develop his skills would have been the best option, but it is very hard to turn down that big money when your value is at the highest it may ever be. What is your view on Vince Young? |

| Baseball "Expert" Premium Member Moderator | I agree with your assessment of this kid. He is big, strong, fast, and has a great arm. I haven't seen him throw enough "touch" passes to judge his ability in this area. Overall, I like him to be the first QB taken. |

| Erudite | re:Young vs. NFL Draft Position You got 20mil plus to sit for 3 years waiting for this guy to learn a pro style offense, which to date, he has never run? This is gonna be a great year for wholesale mis-information coming out of the top 10 camps on him. Most GMs see him as a sucker bet. Great athlete...probably a great kid...but For balance, I really don't think Leinart is top 10 either. |

| Outlaw | I have been watching Vince at Texas since he came out of High School, he is a great college QB but I don't think his game will translate to the next level. His throwing style needs a lot of work and his favorite zone read play won't work in the NFL. He does have enough talent and potential to get drafted in the first round but who ever drafts him won't be around to see Vince mature into an NFL QB. I would be more comfortable drafting Matt Leinart who looks ready to run a pro style offense right away. but that is just my opionin but I could be wrong |

| Erudite | In terms of impact in the NFL; None in near term at current pos. Possibly move to RB(he will get bigger) or WR 4.5 speed If I'm Him I go back to Texas and am one of the first 3 picks of 2007. Maybe a 20-25 million improvement. |

| Outlaw | I don't see Young dropping past the Titans at number 3. He's almost a perfect fit for the Titans, seeing as McNair is his mentor, and the offense wouldn't see much change in the QB position since Young has a similar playing style to McNair. As for Volek, he will be 30 next season, and will only be able to play for a few more seasons. The Titans will jump at the opportunity to draft a franchise QB and pick up Young. As for tackle, the Titans can wait until rd 2 to address that need. We already have last year's 2nd rounder Michael Roos who can play either LT or RT, so the need isn't as great because we have a solid player who can proctect the QB's blindside. The Titans could pick up a prospect like Marcus McNeill or Jonathan Scott in the 2nd, and still have a very good pair of tackles. |

| Outlaw | I too think Vince is making a huge mistake in forgoing his senior year. One more year of experience and (let's face it) the Heisman next year and his price goes waaaaay up. As an I-bleed-orange Horns fan, I'm very depressed now Hope the kids haven't eaten all the chocolate! |

| Deputy Premium Member Moderator | First and foremost, I agree with others that Young should have stayed another year. However, if you are New Orleans....southern team, trying to fill seats and make a name.....don't you take Young first, then Leinart? If so....doesn't the aspect of Chow and Leinart being reunited also lead to juicy speculation??

| Erudite | there ain't a GM alive that wants to have to pick him pay him and sit him or worse (see Ryan Leaf, Aliki Smith)...problem is, Young is the latest cinderella at the ball and owners want fannies in seats... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10767795/ |

| who me? Admin | Going to the Titans would be the fit Young is looking for, IMO. He strives to be like McNair, and learning under him would be great for him. Coming out a year early would give him time to learn under Mcnair, and gradually play himself into the lineup, much like Mcnair did when he came into the league. Vince Young has plenty of talent, and a will to win. He will be very good in the NFL. |

| Outlaw | Vince Young needs to stay another year. Case Closed. I'm not bashing the kid - but, with the way he releases I could bat down his throw at the line.....and I'm only 5'6.

| Outlaw | If the Titans don't go for Vince Young at #3, I think that they would be foolish to select another player with it, seeing that lots of teams would break the bank in order to get a QB of Vince's projected caliber. If the Titans trade down to around 10-15, they could still take a franchise left tackle such as Winston Justice or Eric Winston, and try to take Omar Jacobs of Bowling Green with their 2nd round pick. The pick has huge value, and they could get multiple high round picks for it, so I wouldn't spend it on a tackle because of the huge depth at the position in this draft. |

| Erudite | Gee, What part of Not Fer Long do y'all not git? No such thing as upside anymore. It's now or never. This kid is a great athlete but not an NFL QB. The league is fulla guys with a lot lower cap numbers, better prepared short and long term to keep ya in the game. and wait ta ya see his wondelick scores...GMs, Directors of Pro Personel and Head Coachs don't want him. Owners and fans do. You been listening to that Philly dirt bag, Mel (who the hell invited him anyway)Kipper way too much. McNair, would be(is) a great mentor for Young, but he's damaged goods and is short term at best and Young is 2-3 years away at best. Sign Votek, beef up the o line, leave the prettiest girl at the dance and git yerself someone you can bring home ta momma. just a thought |
