The mystery of the wonderlick score may be solved. Vince Young's (un)official score is now a 16. The first reported score was a six and was probably accurate. The NFL allowed Young to re-take the test and he subsequently scored the 16. Which, by the way, is the sum of Bradshaw's and Marino's, scores. The NFL allowed Young to re-take the test in an effort to maintain a positive relationship with the NCAA. The 6 on the first test would have raised eyebrows and questions about how an elite athlete got through school with so few academic skills. And well it should. Why pretend, these elite athletes are in school to matriculate to the next level of their profession, nothing more. For all the money the NCAA spends policing and enforcing arcane rules, it would be time and money better spent preparing the handful of top athletes to enter the work force with the social and money management skills required to handle heir new found wealth and celebrity. Putting it all out in the open would go a long way toward removing some of the cloak and dagger dirty tricks now being played out in the back rooms of Booster Clubs, AD's offices and agents back seats. What lessons are they really teaching these guys? They're teaching them to work the system instead of teaching them integrity and citizenship. Our jails are full of criminals learning to be better criminals and our colleges and Universities are no better when it comes to the handling of those special athletes.
just a thought.

maybe... it is true that he took the test twice, happens all the time, I may have given Marino too much credit, though. Brad scored 7 and Danny got a 9 first time out. The OC for the Steelers lived next door to us when Bradshaw was drafted and more than once remarked on Terry's future as a rocket scientist. Marino was probably a little hung over when he took his...

I think one of the big three will fall, and I still have a feeling it might be Young.

I said rumors that he could fall to 10th in the draft were out there and he could drop lower. Seeing that this rumor is still around after 8 days, there could be some truth to it. Maybe the wonderlic did have something to do with it. ???

I think Free Agent moves and team needs have more to do with it than anything.

Dave,is a low rumble the same as a rumor? If so,I think we just got slammed. I do not believe or remember if Texas has had its pro day, which could make or brake Young's status along with wonderlic and throwing motion. If Texas has had it,then this may be the item that's pushing the rumble. If not,[pro day] then like I stated / this has 8 days of legs to it and most[rumors] only last 3-4 days.Only 40 something days left to find out.

I think that how far Vince falls is dependant on what the Jets do at the top of the draft in regards to trading up. If they trade with the 'Aints and take Matt Leinart, I think that the Titans will still take Vince at #3, but if Leinart falls to 3 then I think that Vince could take a big tumble all the way down to either the Raiders, Lions, or even the Cardinals.

it would still be top 10, not a bad place to be drafted.

And those that skipped him over will regret that decision for the next few years.

I don't see the Raiders passing on vince Young if he is there at 7. Yes they have other key needs, but Al won't do it.

The Raiders, being the typical Raiders, could very well do this. Bad move for them, IMO, but it could very well happen.

If he doesn't go to the Titans though, I would really like for him to fall do Arizona. I like the fit there.

Just a different reference point/ Fox Sports > 10 up / down in draft
One Mr. Vince Young is listed because of not working out at Combine.
