R. Williams charged with possession....

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Jan. 10, 2006) -- Jaguars wide receiver Reggie Williams was served a notice to appear in court after police allegedly found a small amount of marijuana in his car during a routine traffic stop.

Williams is charged with possession of 20 grams or less of marijuana, a misdemeanor. But rather than being taken to jail, he was served a notice to appear in court, documents show.

Williams, the team's first-round draft pick in 2004, was stopped the night of Jan. 9 for three traffic infractions, according to police documents.

The officer allegedly smelled marijuana and asked to search the car after Williams stepped out to sign the traffic citations. After Williams consented, police allegedly found two marijuana cigarettes under the driver's seat and a small bag of loose marijuana in the center console.

Williams was also cited for running a red light, turning left from a center lane and unknowingly driving on a suspended or revoked driver's license.

Williams was the Jaguars' third-leading receiver this year, catching 35 passes for 445 yards.

Williams' agent, Carl Poston, did not return a telephone message.

Team spokesman Dan Edwards declined comment.

I know you should have made your title more clear. I dont really care too much about Reggie, but seeing R. Williams i also thought it was Ricky.

The real question now is does the Jags wr have another previously undesclosed violation. The NFL doesn't publicize violators who have failed one drug test and go into the program. If Reggie Williams has already failed a drug test and is in the program this may turn out to be a second violation and could be more serious than it appears on the surface.

^ He was significantly better in college, there may actually be a problem. He didn't drop many balls in college.
