Vote in the Poll, feel free to discuss here.

I would like to use the compensatory picks, but I dont want to drag this thing out too late either. I will try to figure out when these will be announced, but it may be a while before this is announced.

Without knowing when they are announced and the time it takes to do a 7 rounder I say that we can't wait. We will never finish in time.

Just checked on last year. Compensatory picks were announced toward the end of March, and we used them. I personally dont want to wait that long. maybe we can do one now without, then do another quick one with them?

Just a thought.

I think that's a good idea. Everyone is satisfied......

This is my first draft to do, so I have no clue how long it takes to do the whole draft. I do know that the highest compensatory pick that can be awarded is at the end of the 3rd round, so we could finish the first 3 rounds, and depending on what the date is then, we could either wait for the picks to be announced, or just continue with the draft. It all depends on how long it will take to finish 3 rounds though.

In previous experience with this, the first 3 rounds go pretty quick, then it starts to slow down. I am going to do my best to keep that major slow down from happening this year though with a stricter monitor of the time limit and by encouraging more mock draft participants to feel free to make a pick for a team who has let the clock expire.

I would seriously like to knock out about 3 of these this year so we can get more people involved, however anyone who remains active in the first one can definately be in the others.

If we start without waiting on teh comp. picks, we will probably start on Feb. 13, which will be a week after the Superbowl. By all rights, that draft should be done long before the comp. picks are announced, and then we can do another.

The Compens. picks are announced too late for us to realistically pull it off.

For the record, I would do this one without the compensatory picks. I also would limit this one to 3 rounds...then go and do a second one with compensatory and full seven rounds. Use this one to get feet wet and get an idea of pace. It will also let you know who is commited. The other issue is....right now all the talent games are running...and how they turn out changes a draft...as does the combine. So doing a later full draft would be better. Just my $0.02

I like doing two different drafts, one without comp. picks, and one with them in March. I believe if we stop the draft after three rounds it could be difficult to re-start it with everyone still participating throughout.

That sounds awesome to me, I like the idea of doing one before and one after, I just didn't know the timeframe of how long one usually takes
