nothing really un-expected. Anderson was a given, Davis is a little shocking, Smart and Adams were goners.

Putizer lost his starting job to Stephen Alexander. Anderson was rumored to go. Pryce was a bit of a shock even with his high cap number. 1st round pick in '97 comming off a pretty good rebound year. He was an 8 yr vet with an 8.5 million cap number, that makes sense if they tried to re-negotiate and he resisted, which I can't believe they did. Anderson's cap number was a lot lower than I thought at 2.5 or so.

Piece I saw said they didn't even ask. With his low number it makes you wonder.

Dolphins also cut Sam Madison, fellow CB Reggie Howard, and S Tebucky Jones in addition to McIntosh.

The Titans also dumped LT Brad Hopkins today.

Two years in a row the 'phins dumped their top corner, after trading Surtain to KC last year. Saban will have to add some depth there in the draft to make up the rolls. That becomes a definite need for them.

Vick contract tidbit

Falcons | Team adjusts money due to Vick, opens salary cap room
Thu, 2 Mar 2006 10:25:42 -0800
ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the Atlanta Falcons have guaranteed a $7 million roster bonus due to QB Michael Vick. The move creates about $5.25 million in additional room under the salary cap. The team basically turned his roster bonus into a signing bonus, which allows them to prorate it over the remainder of the contract.

I thought that...but he has so far said no to renegotiation..plus put into account their trying to acquire Ricky Williams...and I am thinking Denver may be looking rb in the first round. With two picks, they can easily score one of the top four...or....maybe they deal up for Bush???

funny part is, just earlier this week, I made a trade in my dynasty league. I send Chad Johnson(RFA) and Mike Anderson to a team for Julius Jones, Marion Barber and a 1.7 pick. I made out like a bandit now...teehee

That's a hell of a trade. That's his fault for making a trade before the start of the league year, as team's are always going to be cutting players. That's an interesting trade, he must have been hard up for a stud WR, because Mike Anderson was an old man (in football terms) for a RB last year, and doubly so come next year.

I don't know why the Broncos always look for RBs everywhere, seems like Tatum Bell will be able to be a pimp in his Junior year in the league. ALthough Ricky would have looked pretty pretty damn good running in that system.

Actually, this is "in" season for us. We are currently in the period where you can Franchise tag players, or cut some and sign some off your practice squad. There are usually alot of trades at this point, as we try to get position in the draft. The full deal was: I send Mark Bulger(RFA) and Mike Anderson(1.5yrs $5000) and Chad Johnson(1.5)$28000 for Julius Jones(1.5 $6000) and Marion Barber(1yr $300) and 1.7 pick this year. I also have Carson Palmer with one year left(so I will tag him franchise end of this year) and Holt(1.5 at $32K), so I wasnt' going to be able to resign both wr's anyway..with our cap. I am risking getting some solid first round talent..as I have 3 picks now in the first round. Oh, and got some serious cap savings as well.

I think because they burn them out. If you look, they have not had repeat 1000yd rushers in back to back seasons in quite a while. Anderson isn't young, and rumors are flying they would trade Bell if the price was right. There system is very RB friendly, and they can plug just about anyone in and make it work.

I just added players to this list.

Issac Bruce was cut, among others.
