I agree, I think he comes back for one more. I dont think he wants last year and that awful performance to be his last.

One season does not define his career.

I know, but no one wants to go out like that. I am not saying he didnt have a brilliant career.

I just posted some news about Farve.

Just a gut feeling...but I think he retires. No real reason...just a hunch.

I hope not, I have a few GB players on my fantasy teams and that would really hurt their value this season.

Well, the decision has been pushed back a week, is that taken as a sign of him leaning more toward or away from retirement?

Personally, I think he needs to walk away now.

Good question. I don't know what else he can want. Maybe to see if Walker will be back healthy? I honestly think he could play one more year if he really wanted to. I just don't know if a half commited Favre is helping or not.

He's not half-committed. - NEVER has been, NEVER will be - He's comtemplating retirement for the sake of the team. If the situation arises that he is needed, he will stay. If it is deemed appropriate that another QB could fill his role, he will retire. It's 30% about him and 70% about the team.

That is incorrect. He IS half committed right now. He doesnt know if he wants to play. He is in no way trying to decide what is best for the team, he is simply waiting to see if he has a chance to win a superbowl or not. There is no "for the team" involved in this, it is all for himself at this point.

Not sure where that comment was directed. Debates dont get you banned here. We have only had one person banned in the history of this site and that was voluntary.

It's not directed at anyone. My feelings are so unbelievably strong on this issue that it would be best for me and this site that I refrain from making further comments.

Oh come on. We aren't that bad. If you see it differently, let fly..that is what is fun.

for the record, I can see why coming back is for the team and not for Bret. I think that is why he has held off retiring. Still, I think taking the hit, and going to Rodgers now...is best for the long run. Since I don't see Bret going past this year.

What would you do at his stage in a carrer. He is arguably on of the top five quarterbacks in the history of the NFL. He can phyiscally play for another five years if he really wanted to. Shit, look at the begining of last year, he was in the best shape of his carrer, yet his team wasn't. Sounds like 100% commitment to the team, doesn't it? He came back last year after TT destroyed this team through FA, and the hiring of MM over Jim Bates doesn't do anything to help. Favre has EVERY right in the world to wait to see what the Packers do in FA..

I personnally think that Favre has something to offer GB. If GB was collecting young talent for an attempt to rebuild, I would probably be of the opinion that he needs to step down but they arent. They resigned A. Green and its going to be business as usual. Let him play, they will compete this year but they arent heading for the Super bowl.
