Is Moss ever going to be the Moss we came to expect again in Oakland? They sign Aaron Brooks who may be the dumbest starting QB in the league, but does have a nice arm. Can Moss get back to the Elite level of WR production this year? And will Brooks thrive with having Moss to throw the rock too?

The system helps make the QB, Miller. Look at Moss and Culpepper. IMO, Culpepper just sucks - injury or not. With Moss on board I am more likely to draft Books......as a second back-up. =)

I dont think this decision can be made regarding Moss until we see what this team continues to do if FA and in the draft. If they dont work on getting a defense that can win them the field position battles, you are looking at another identical year for Moss I am afraid.

Collins to Brooks is not an upgrade, its just a change. Defense has to be changed before this offense can relax

Yeah im not sold on Brooks. Ive listened to the comments everyone has made and Im not sold on Brooks. Sorry i just dont feel it in my gut that hes going to come alive this year. Moss is suffering in that system and Lamont Jordan wasnt exactly greesed lightening in production last year. What did he have last year 1000 yards and 9 tds, maybe a couple in the air. Mike nailed their biggest obstacle, their lack of defence. This team hasnt changed anything and they are dragging feet in FA.

Brooks is not the smartest QB but his WR's do put up stats. Brooks just finds a way to lose games at the end. Dont forget Moss still had 1000yds and 8 TDs last year with Collins so he could easily get back up to 1300 and 10+TDs with a QB that looks for him more often. Last year it looked at times like Collins decided in the huddle not to throw to Moss and never even looked for him on some plays.

Good points.

Everyone loves to get down on Brooks, but fantasy wise, he has been a pretty solid Qb. He won't win a game for you with a huge effort, but he certainly puts up his share of pts. In this offense, he will get the chance to throw the ball deep more. Assuming they can improve the off. line, he could turn out as a bit of a sleeper here. Look what Brooks did for Horn. I don't think you should drop Moss too much for the Qb issue. To me you drop Moss more due to his usual few game injuries he has.

I agree with phicinfan. Dont downgrade Moss because of Brooks, downgrade him because of himself.

Agree he does take some games off due to injuries and takes some plays off due to not feeling like running
