I definitely have to go with Cutler on this one. I know that they have glaring problems with their D, but I don't see them passing on Cutler here.

I have to agree. If Cutler is there, he muct be their choice, even is they stink at picking QB's.

Cutler hasn't done enough to warrant this high a selection, imho...that usually doesn't stop draft brain-trusts from making mistakes at the top of the board. The signing of Brooks should signal the Raiders are going defense with this pick and then picking up a QB in the later rounds.

The Raiders played a 4-2-5 defense out of necessity and would take Hawk here if available. Since Hawk is gone on our board and there are a number of servicable OLBs available later and with Big Ted Washington gone and Sapp less than at his peak, Oregon's 6' 5" 340lb DT Haloti Ngata, is the best fit.

I have to agree here. Rumor has it they are still high on Walter. With brooks on a 2 year deal, they can wait for some QB choices next year and go with Walter or Tui. I am still not sold on Cutler either. Ngata is awfully hard to pass up on a defense that is dire need of help. Hawk would be a lock here...but with him gone...its got to be Ngata.

I am going to agree with the last two here, given what is available and the signing of Brooks. Haloti Ngata

They have signed two old CB's this offseason with a history of injury and will lose woodson so they need defensive help bad. If Young isnt there I see them drafting Huff and trying to make him a CB or leaving him at S to take over Gibsons spot.

The Raiders have two young CBs in Asomugha and Fabian Washington who look pretty good. Depth could be a problem there and will be addressed in the later cheaper rounds. RB is probably a more pressing need than CB at this point. Jordan's health and Fargas's lack of production are concerns with no depth at the position. I really see them going D early with OLB and DT as their biggest holes.

I'm going Cutler. I can't believe that Brooks is the answer to anything and is mearly a stop gap. He will enable them to bring Cutler along slowly and let him learn. I say Cutler is the pick.

Wow, this looks like the toughest pick so far. Decisions are split among multiple players.

While I think they should go D and voted that way, I think Cutler will be a very big temptation to them. Which way they go should be interesting as it will say alot about how they view their own rebuilding process.

I voted for Cutler. QB is the choice for them but it won't be Cutler, it will be Vince Young...

It won't be a quarterback at all, only an idiot would pick a quarterback with Brooks making starters money

I'm going to say Huff's the pick here.......Brooks kinda kills any QB talk since Leinart and Young are not possibilities, so I just don't see them reaching up to take Cutler here. With him out of the way, I just don't see them passing on a better player in Huff to fill need. I think Ngata's still a couple of picks down the board before he starts to become more valued, and Huff's got a TON of upside.

Actually, had I thought about the exit of Woodson, I would have given Huff some serious consideration here as well. Huff or Ngata would be a good pick, the Raiders need all kinds of defensive help.

I fully expect Huff to be gone by the seventh pick. That fact that he is still on our board raises a very tough but enviable spot fot the Raiders to be in. My logic was that Oakland went corner in '03 and '05 and need D line help. Huff is tough to pass on though if he still on the board.

Okay, we have a tie so far. I will keep it open for a little while longer to see if it gets broken. I agree with Superdave, I really don't think Huff is here in the real draft. However, he is very attractive if he is. I still think Ngata is the answer for thier defense though. Bufallo fans probably disagree though...
