Well we have been debating it and the decision has been made. The Eli Manning era begins this sunday against the lowly Falcons. I just had to get that dig in there for Monks and Dawgs. Don't know how he will do because I dont care if you have his brother out there playing if you can't block you can't throw. I think this is Tom's last ditch effort to save the season since it's obvious the offense has stalled the last 3 weeks for whatever reason.

Funny that we talked about this so much lately, and how it has happened.

I bet it is a little of that, and alot of ownership wanting to see their money out on the field.

Against that Atlanta Front he might be in for a long and painful day.

Hmmmm, looks like that 10-6 prediction isn't looking so good.

If they make the playoffs I dont care if they are 9-7 which would probably be a more realisitic goal. But crazier things have happened.

9-7 won't do it this season, IMO. The Giants need to find a defensive end to replace one of the 2 they lost. They are in big trouble if the Bears can beat them.
Before you bring the Vikes in, I will. The Vikes are likely not to make the playoffs again this season, after a decent start. They have had their weakness discovered (slow linebackers) and it doesn't take much of a team to exploit it.
Neither team will make the playoffs, and they can look forward to next season. The Vikes need to find some LBs that can play and the Giants need to find some O-linemen that can block.

40 sacks given up by that O line. Eli will be a running QB. ...he'll just be running in the wrong direction.

The guy I feel for is Tiki. YOU JUST KNOW they will be putting 8 or more in the box now to stuff Tiki and make Manning win the game. Fantasy owners beware.....

No they won't be putting 8 in the box. You only put 8 in the box when you want to dare the other team to throw...indicating that they have no ability to throw. If they are gonna stack the line then Eli will find open receivers downfield. You cant stack the line against Eli I dont care how green he is.

What defenses will do is blitz on every passing down possible and try to confuse him. The way to get Tiki out of the game when you have a talented but unproven rookie at QB is to a) blitz the hell out of him and b) get ahead early. If you get an early lead you will force the Giants to throw and you take Tiki out of the game.

If you stack the line against the Giants Eli will burn them he just will. The man has a monster arm.

Sure he has a monster arm, but he's also a rookie playing behind a subpar offensive line. Not a good outlook. He may end up great but I'm betting he's going to have a few growing pains.

the benefit of Manning playing in his rookie year will be the fact that he has plenty of receiving outlets, including at top tier tight end. Shockey may be the difference between Manning have a good year, as opposed to having a disasterous introduction to the NFL.
