and beyond for that matter?

If you have a dynastly league with large enough rosters/DL spots, he is probably still tucked away on someone's roster.

After a ton of hype, and briefly looking good before getting injured, we have had a couple years of absolutely nothing to go on with this guy.

Is he looking good in minicamps?

Any stat projections, or rankings among tight ends this year? top 10 tight end? top 5 tight end?

We've had some nice tight ends past and present down here in Miami......I can tell you this kid was hands down THE MOST talented to ever come through the U. He had gifts that Shockey didn't have. Originally recruited as a wide receiver he basically worked out like crazy his freshman year to "become" a tight end....but he's a freak of nature.

He gets a bad rap cause of his intensity...but the same intensity he carries in his personal life he also carries out with him on the field. You'll never find a kid with a better work ethic or who wants to win more than him. Don't write this kid off yet....if he returns at 90% or 95% he's still more talented than almost every tight end in the NFL. Barring health setbacks he can be a Pro-Bowler within the next couple of years.....he's that good.

As for '06.....I have no idea how far along he is in his rehab but he's one of those players I've targeted and will be watching all summer. He's be a fantastic late round pick if you can't get Gates early. Seeing as the Browns are probably going to play at least a somewhat conservative offense this year (at least I would imagine so) with Frye at the helm....there is no better security blanket for a young QB than a great TE target over the middle to check down to. Conservatively....assuming he's 90% healed....I could see 700-800 yards and 6 or 7 scores. If he's 100%....watch out....there's nothing Gates can do that this kid can't, upside is definitely there.

So far the guy's been the Brown's version of Yatil Green. However, that's not to say he won't produce this season and for the rest of his career, it's just a bad omen.

Well in his defense, his NFL injury could have happened to anybody, so I will not call him injury prone.

His motorcycle injury, as stupid as it was, was nothing more than a youthful mistake. Hell, I still go out and get completely stupid on bikes at 36 years old, but I am not a top rated NFL player and it goes un-noticed by most.

I think he has grown up quite a bit, and there is not denying his talent. In all honesty, I am initially seeing him as a possible top 5 tight end this year, and definately in the 4-7 range at this point.

I am a BIG fan of his... and all players from the U from a fantasy perspective..mainly becuase my team is basically all Miami players

Portis
Willis
Gore
Davenpoop
Andre Johnson
Reggie Wayne
Santana Moss
Shockey
Winslow

I don't see Winslow being a HUGE fantasy guy this season... more like
40-700-5

Mary Kay Cabot, of the Plain Dealer, reports Cleveland Browns QB Charlie Frye is encouraged by the progress of Browns' TE Kellen Winslow Jr. (knee). "The last three or four weeks, he's been running routes with cleats on and looking good," Frye said Thursday night, May 18, at a charity event hosted by CB Gary Baxter. "He's basically running every route, cutting, going deep, whatever. He's one of the fastest guys on the team. I'm really excited for him." Frye said he's been with Winslow almost every day since the end of January. Frye said he's never seen anyone work as hard as Winslow. Browns general manager Phil Savage said Winslow will be on the field for full-squad minicamp June 16-18, but his activity probably will be limited.

I traded for him and Glenn and a rookie draft pick in Zealots. I like the potential that he can have and I am hoping that he has gotten a little more educated and will be able to finally show why he was a 6th overall pick in the 2004 draft.
