Noticed this came up in another thread, and seen information in the rumor mill and the news blog on this as well.

Fisher seem to be pushing very hard to keep McNair in Tennessee, and I dont blame him. With McNair gone, the Titans take a pretty big hit at the quarterback position.

What are the chances of something getting worked out here that keeps McNair with the Titans? I would like for him to stay, personally. I think it would be better for the team short term, and long term in regards to Vince Young's development.

Not so much coachspeak. Fisher has been fighting this the whole time within the organization from what I have heard. He appears to be fighting a losing battle though because I dont know that the Titans can keep him at his current contract.

I figure Jeff Fisher loses his job at the end of 2006 as well, which will be a shame.

I agree with Portis....the question now becomes, WHY IN THE HELL WOULD MCNAIR WANT TO PLAY FOR THEM?????? Seriously, you can't tell a player to fock off any clearer then the Titans did to McNair. I wouldn't want to play there again if I was him.

Me either, but as I said, it is Fisher that wants him to stay there. The decision doesn't lie in Fisher's hands though.

This is another time that I really dislike the salary cap. McNair should have been retiring with this team.

Fisher might leave at the end of the season whether he gets fired or not. The Titans could contend for a playoff spot with McNair this year. I doubt the situation is salvagable, but a man can dream.

Well, if Parcells decides to retire after 2006, and Fisher wants to move on, I would love to see him in Dallas.
Maybe he could sneak Vince Young in his suitcase.

Seeing Fisher coach another team would be worse than seeing Eddie George/Steve McNair/Derrick Mason/Samari Rolle in another jersey.

Are they selling Eddie George Cowboys jerseys in the dollar store in Dallas, Mike?

Eddie still thinks that the Titans are going to invite him back for one last run.
