| Who Me? Admin | WOW, more drama for Pittsburgh players....loving this. However, seems like a pretty stupid reason to be arrested unless there is more to this then shown here, which since we only have Holmes side, I'm sure is probally the case.

| Bloggin' Outlaw Premium Member Moderator | Joe Bendel, of the Tribune-Review, reports Pittsburgh Steelers rookie WR Santonio Holmes has given his account of his arrest in Miami Beach, Florida. Holmes said Saturday night, May 27, that he was on his way from a bar/restaurant in Miami Beach early Saturday and stepped off the sidewalk to avoid a gathering of people. A police officer yelled at him, Holmes said. A report written by the arresting officer said Holmes was obstructing traffic. Holmes said he asked the officer why he yelled at him, and he was immediately placed under arrest. The police report said Holmes was not cooperative with police after being warned to get off of the street on Collins Avenue. "I observed the defendant walking in the middle of the road obstructing traffic. I gave the defendant a verbal order to get out of the street and the defendant began to say several offensive words and he refused to get out of the street. The defendant's actions caused a crowd to form and traffic to come to a stop. Defendant arrested." A date for Holmes to appear in court for his arraignment has not been set. A little more detail from the police report in this blurb. |

| Bloggin' Outlaw Premium Member Moderator | Paul Daugherty, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals WR Chris Henry is due in a Florida courtroom Tuesday, May 30, to face a charge of carrying a concealed firearm. In January, on West Central Boulevard in Orlando, Henry emerged from a white limousine to pull a 9 mm Luger from his waistband and threaten a group of people with whom he'd been arguing the previous night. Allegedly. When police asked Henry to put down the gun, he walked a few steps to the limo and tossed the weapon inside. He perpetrated the alleged crime while wearing his Bengals jersey. Just so it doesn't seem that we are only picking on Steeler players in this thread and the fact that this is just about to hit court. Using his own Bengals jersey was a great disguise don't ya think? ![]() |

| Erudite | I saw a report that said when his moms was contacted in relation to his reported arrest in Miami, Mama Holmes swore he was in Columbus, in school, at the time. She went on to say she saw him Thursday and there was no way he was in Miami. The police, in response to her comments, issued a statement detailing their procedure on identifying perps before releasing them on a performance bond. No word from Santanio on this yet. Miami was the center of the hip-hop universe this weekend and if I was a young urban athlete, on the verge of becoming a millionaire, that's when I would have been this weekend. In his defense, having seen BCR in Daytona for the last 6-7 years, the police are overly zealous in their traffic management. |
