| Deputy Premium Member Moderator | Give me the one player on offense or defense that will make or break your season. It can be more than one..but none the less...who will lose the season for you if they are lost?

| Luckiest Man in Hired Gun Premium Member | Last year I would have answered this with Ray Lewis but the Ravens proved they could play without him as Bart Scott filled in nicely. This year on defense they cannot afford to lose anyone in the secondary. Ed Reed is playmaker that can change the course of the game with one play, either on Defense or Special Teams. They really have no depth at the corner position so Rolle and McAllister can't go down.... On Offense I think I would have to say Todd Heap. He is a down the field threat that causes coverage problems and demands a double team, which can open up running lanes for the RB or leave a WR One on One. If he goes down they have no one that can do that on offense... |

| Who Me? Admin | Bengals: Offense - Carson Palmer - The playoffs still rest on his arm (of knee, however you want to look at it). His ability to comeback from the knee injury and return to form will tell the story of this season for the Bengals. Without him, they will remain competitive, but they are not a playoff team. They need to have him back by at least week 6 to make their run. Defense - My answer to this one is 2 guys, Odel Thurman & Madieu Williams. Odel is quickly turning into the heart of this defense and if they loose him, they will take a major step backwards. Madieu Williams is the player they were missing all of last year on the defensive side of the ball and it showed. A healthy return by him will go along way to allowing this defense to take the major step forward they need to take to take this team to the next level. Honorable mention here is Sam Adams. He must become the disruptive run stopper they brought him into be.

| Erudite | Take your pick on Offense. Big Ben, Fast Willie, Hines "57" Ward, Duce. The Steelers play "smash mouth" football, as well, if not better than anyone in the League and will this year, as well. The drafting of speed on the O side is a trend thru out the league. The Steelers may have the two fastest guys in football though in Parker and freshly minted Santanio Holmes. But in the end it will be one of the slower guys on O that will make or break the season for the Steelers, Big Ben. In '05 the Steelers threw the ball early and often to get the lead in games they won and then sat on it. Rothlistwhatever is going to really have to emerge as the teams leader. No offense to Ward, the elder statesman of the team but it's Ben's team. As he goes so goes the Steelers. He really needs to step up and understand the game better. He has relied on physical skills to overcome some bad decision making and the Superbowl exposed some of his weaknesses. I would expect every DC in the league to have picked apart the game film from the Superbowl and will come after him like the Seahawks did. He really is the key for the Steelers to have a shot at repeating. |

| Outlaw | Charlie Frye. If he gets sunk, the team goes down. We haven't addressed quality depth behind him and if he gets hurt I'm going to hate seeing Ken Doh! Dorsey back there. We've proven we can do it without the second coming for two years now, so KWII won't lose our season. Braylon is a tough loss, but he'll come back to around 85% by midseason. Losing Ted Washington on the line would kill our run stopping ability and really hurt the mentoring of Babatunde. But Charlie is going to make or break this team. |
