Steven Jackson, to me, is a first round pick, early 2nd at the latest.

I simply dont draft quarterbacks that early, as they dont hold that much value to me.

QB's are a dime a dozen in leagues 12 teams and under....I can find a QB much easier then i can find a top back.

No that easy to find a Top QB, maybe a journeyman fill in, but not a stud. (Ok Eli is not at that level just yet, but he will be soon)

And Mike, once the draft is over, you cant base your trades on draft spots, but on needs as Phicinfan said earlier.

In a redraft league, I would agree with both Mike and Miller_time. Even in a small amount keeper league. However, in a dynasty league, especially one that has no contracts or cap...and you can hang onto Qbs as long as you like, I totally disagree. In the last few years...the top QBs that came out, and were drafted in a rookie draft that amounted to anything would be Manning, Culpepper, McNabb(I don't think so..but some do...), Palmer and the Mannings. I really don't see more than ONE or TWO that come out a year. RBs though, while not readily available in a rookie draft...can be found easier in my opinion with all the teams going to multy back systems. 32 teams, mean 32 Qbs. Not all teams have stud Qbs. All teams though have at least ONE if not more rbs you can use though.

It all depends on how you build your dynastly league. If I can get a good young stud Qb(have Palmer in one dynasty...) and can concentrate more on other areas I do. In almost all leagues I am in...the top scorer is usually Qbs.

I dont really buy too much into that. A player's value is what it is. If I have a first round talent running back, I am not going to lose value in a trade to fill a need unless I am extremely desperate. It is going to take multiple injuries for me to get that desperate.

Much more content to look toward the other 10 teams for a trade.

I do see what you are saying though, but I am just stubborn when it comes to wanting trades for equal value, rather than taking less because of a need. Doesn't mean I won't do it, but I dont if I can absolutely help it.

Not sure why he's after Eli but he has been all off season. He wants to trade me Willy Parker but I'm not interested I think Parker is a one hit wonder

Do you "need" a running back?

ok, you did say you needed a RB. Who is your quarterback if you make a trade with this guy, after losing Eli?

If you are talking straight fantasy terms I agree, but as football players, Big Ben would have to be right there, as a matter of fact, I think he is better than Eli.
