Hey guys, there is a new fantasy football league called "5 Wide" starting this year, and Sportsoutlaw has been invited to compete. The league will consist of 5 sites, 4 teams from each site, for a total of 20 teams. Per the league rules two teams from each site must be replaced with new owners each year. We will come up with a method for finding the new owners each season.

Below are some basic league rules and an explanation of the league
Quote:
5 Wide Fantasy Football League Rules

Composition

The 5 Wide Fantasy Football League will consist of four members from each of five message boards, making up a 20 team league. These 20 teams will be split into four divisions, with one team from each board in each. Owners who draft 1-5, 6-10, 11-15, and 16-20 will each be placed into separate divisions.
The board with the best combined winning percentage among its four representatives after the fantasy regular season (Week 13) will be crowned the champion. Playoffs will continue through week 16 in order to name an individual champion.

Draft

The draft will be a 16 round, serpentine draft. The draft will run at a slow pace with a 12 hour time limit per pick, although owners will be encouraged to pre-draft. The members of each individual board will be separated along the draft order as follows: Board A will draft from slots 1, 10, 11, and 20; Board B will draft from slots 2, 9, 12, and 19; Board C will draft from slots 3, 8, 13, and 18; Board D will draft from slots 4, 7, 14, and 17; Board D will draft from slots 5, 6, 15, and 16.In 2006, each board will be randomly selected to choose their draft slots. In future years, the last place board from the previous year will have first choice of draft slots.

Rosters and Starting Requirements

League roster size will be limited to 16 players per team. Starting requirements will include one quarterback, one kicker, and one team defense/special teams, in addition to five flex positions (RB, WR, or TE).No more than two RBs, five WRs, or three TEs may be started at once, but any combination of five will be accepted. It is only fitting that teams have the capability of starting five WRs in the 5 Wide Fantasy Football League.
Currently the Commish Software, which will be used for this league, does not permit this type of flex ability. In the event that no change is made to the software prior to the start of the draft, owners may start any combination of five RBs, WRs, and TEs.

Scoring Rules

Scoring rules for QBs, RBs, WRs, TEs, and PKs are as follows:

• Pass TDs – 4 pts / 1 TD
• Pass Yds – 0.05 pts / 1 yard
• Rush TDs – 6 pts / 1 TD
• Rush Yds – 0.1 pts / 1 yard
• Rec TDs – 6 pts / 1 TD
• Rec Yds – 0.1 pts / 1 yard
• 2 Pt Conv – 2 / 1 conversion
• Extra Pts – 1 pt / 1 extra pt
• Field Goals – 3 pts / 1 FG

Scoring rules for defense/special teams are as follows:

• KR TDs – 6 pts / 1 TD
• PR TDs – 6 pts / 1 TD
• INT TDs – 6 pts / 1 TD
• FR TDs – 6 pts / 1 TD
• Safeties – 2 pts / 1 safety
• Ints – 1 pt / 1 int
• FR – 1 pt / 1 FR
• Sacks – 0.5 pts / 1 sack

Schedule

The league schedule will run weeks 1 through 13 of the NFL regular season, including doubleheaders in weeks 2, 11, and 12.Each owner will play every opposing board representative once during the season. Representatives of the same board will not play one another.

Playoffs

The four division winners and two wildcard teams will make the playoffs, much like one conference of the NFL. The top two division winners will be awarded a bye week. Playoffs will be conducted Week 14 (Wildcard Week), Week 15 (Divisional Week), and Week 16 (Championship Week).
Tiebreakers to determine standings will be as follows:

1. Winning Percentage
2. Head-to-Head Record
3. Divisional Winning Percentage (between teams in same division only)
4. Total Points Scored
5. Coin Flip

Free Agency

Each owner will be allotted $100 for blind bidding during the season. Bids must be made in increments of $1.Free agency will open every Tuesday morning, after the draft, and will remain open until Thursday (Wednesday, should there be a Thursday game) night at 11:00 PM EST. The highest bid on any individual player during this time will be awarded that player. Tiebreakers for same bids will be exactly the same as those that will determine the standings, only the lower team in the standings will be awarded the player. Owners may include their blind bidding money in trades, if they wish.

Trading

Trades may not be made between members of the same board. Draft picks, players, and blind bidding money are all fair game with trades. The trading deadline will be at 11:00 PM EST on the Thursday (Wednesday, should there be a Thursday game) prior to the Week 10 games. The commissioner holds the power to veto any trade he believes to be collusive.

Turnover

Since there are only four spots open for each board to fill, turnover is necessary to get involvement from each board in its entirety. It is mandated that at least the bottom two owners from each board forfeit their spot next year in order to allow more board members a chance at representing their board. As many as all four members may step down if they wish, but opening the bottom two spots is mandatory.
What we need to get started is 4 owners who want to step up and represent sportsoutlaw. If you are interested, respond in this thread. We will conduct a selection process via those who reply in this thread. Remmeber, if you don't get selected in year one, you still have a chance to get in after this year, as members will be rotated in and out of this league.

Thanks, and good luck.

Yes, players are only available to one team. Multiple teams cannot have the same player.

Yup...I'll do this.

Interestingly enough, no points per catch is going to doom the 5 WR bit, me thinks.

I think with 20 teams the option of 5 WR will be utilized still.

Makes no difference what you think....or, for that matter, what I think.

Unless we get two more suckers to sign up, we are toast!

Ever wonder what Permalink(0) stands for?

I don't think we will have an issue filling the team. There's enough names in the hat already, we just need to select who.

Still time to toss your name into the hat though and be part of Outlaw domination

I have a list going with those who are showing interest in the first post of the thread. We still have some time to get more entries, however we will need to get a list in to the league pretty soon.

If we have more than 4 interested members for the first year, we will either have a vote, or a diceroll to determine this years participants.

The format of this league looks very interesting, and should be a lot of fun, and great for bragging rights among forum members.

Now, it's changed to permalink, with no (0).

And the "P" is lower case.
