Interesting results.

I notice you have Zach Hilton as your last pick. Are you required to start tight ends? Overall I say you did well, althought the TE pick is a significant risk if you are required to start one.

What are the starting lineup requirements?

Yeah, we have to start TEs, but there was a run on them way earlier than I wanted to draft them so I thought that I'd go after a sleeper. The roster requirements are QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, K, Def
I'm planning on using at least one of the running backs as traid bait.

As for trade bait, I would look at Kevin Jones or Corey Dillon. Otherwise, you may want to trade and get their rookie backups somehow. I would get rid of one of these guys and try to work in to the backup of the one you kept regardless if you kept one.

yeah, that's a good idea. Both Calhoun and Maroney are on waivers

I would emphasize backing up Dillon with Maroney as I think Dillon loses out to Maroney soon.

Not sure with the Lions situation, as Kevin Jones is still an improving talent, just has had some injury issues. I feel that Jones will retain his position as starter this year.

I like the team myself, Mike has related some good advice already. You may have to work the Waiver Wire some looking for A TE at times. This is an early draft and their are several teams that have reloaded completely at TE and the pecking order haven't really been determined on these teams. Between new coaches and new O C's you should see some Te's to work with.

Yeah, that has been what I've done when I needed a TE in the past, but I'm also pretty big on Hilton. He's a freakishly atheletic 6'8 TE, sort of like a poor man's Gates, and I think that he'll do well with Brees at QB with the Saints. Thanks for the comments on the team

I am high on Hilton as well this year, but many are not. Personally, I think the guy is set for an outstanding year.

As far as a late stab at a TE sleeper I too think Hilton is a great choice. The Saints will be shifting towards TE production more this year after using TE primarily as blockers in the past. Brees, of course, knows how to utilize a TE. Hilton may be just the right guy at the right spot at the right time.

Exactly. You can bet that this new offense will utilize the tight end. Parcells utilized the tight end heavily, expect this to happen in New Orleans in 2006.

I like your draft, and the guys covered the Dillion issue. I really cant believe that Calhoun and Maroney are out on waiver. Not sure if Calhoun is sitting at the number 2 spot or number three spot in Detroit but I like him. I also like your Chester Taylor pick up. Again Im not sure if he is going to get the jump on Moore as starter or not but your in a good spot with RB's so I think it was worth the risk. Is this a keeper league?

Personally I think you reached a little early for Burress and Delhomme, but you made some very nice pickups on the backside with Jones, Brees, Moulds, Taylor and Hilton.

I am also one of the guys looking for something big from Hilton. He started to come on nicely at the end of the season, and Brees is very comfortable checking down to his huge TE, so I dont see a ton of dropoff and a I do see a ton of upside with him.

I also think you will get enough out of Dillon to more than make up for where you drafted him.

Nice job.

Do not like the James pick...probably could have gotten SJackson or Jordan in his place.

Williams is a solid pick at 2.15...he should be solid this year as long as he stays healthy.

Very good pick of Chris Chambers here...but would like to know if any other players were remaining...like Roy Williams or Boldin.

Burress in the 4th is high as Taz mentioned, but he will produce nicely as a 2WR.

Even though I love Delhomme, he could have been had a few rounds later.

I am a little surprised the KJones went as late as the 6th round. He has been averaging 2.12 in most leagues.

Mason and Jones are good picks that will be productive from time to time. Solid bye week players that could become starters, if needed.

Dillon and Taylor could really pan out, but with the current depth you have here, you should have taken a TE instead. Hilton could be solid, but also could just stay asleep.

Like the Cowboys DST selection, Brees should be solid as a bye week fill-in for Delhomme.

Think you QB position, along with you TE, could be improved with some wheeling and dealing.

At TE, Winslow was on the waiver wire and someone dropped Dallas Clark. Which 2 out of 3 TE's should I keep between Clark, Winslow, and Hilton?

I think I would be keeping Clark and Winslow.

I got good feelings about Hilton, but not solid enough on him to keep him over that group.

I used to think that too Mike, but Clark has simply not lived up to his hype. He has never topped 500 yards or caught more than 37 passes.

In a lot less playing time, Hilton had almost as many receptions (35) for almost 400 yards, but only 1td to Clark's 4.

I expect Hilton's receptions and touchdowns to vastly increase now that he has a QB that is very comfortable checking down to his huge TE.

I would easily take Hilton and Winslow. I think Clark will continue to get the same numbers, and just has no upside, both Hilton and Winslow have tremendous upside.

I am wanting to think the same thing, but I keep finding myself getting suckered into talk of Clark getting more action with Edge gone.

Cant fault either, and if I was in the postion I am not 100% sure what I would do.

I had the same thought, but the more I think about it, the more I like brandon Stokely this year. They will pass more, and he will get alot of those passes...similar to 04. So I agree with Taz...I would keep Winslow and Hilton.
