Question

Who will they be in 2006?

You got 3 guys pushing hard for the position, and in most recent practices it has been Reggie Williams working on the first team offense with Matt Jones.

It appears that Matt Jones has the #1 spot possibly locked up, and at worst one of the starting positions. The other starting spot looks to be the biggest competition and I think most would have figured it to be Ernest Wilford in that sport than Reggie Williams.

Thoughts on how this battle is going to pan out?

The only battel is for 2 and 3. Matt Jones is absolutely the #1, and I truly believe that Ernest Wilford will end up as the #2. Just dont have a lot of faith in Williams.

I figured it would be Wilford as the #2 as well, but for Williams to be lining up with the first team makes me wonder.

I can't wait to see Matt Jones as an every down receiver. As much as I hated him in college, I have become a fan of his in the NFL. Guess I cant hold it against him forever that he was a Hog and almost single handedly beat Texas.

I really like Jones this year, as a matter of fact I think he will greatly outproduce his draft position.

I agree. Considering he is falling way down in mock drafts, he will definately be someone I watch closely.

You can probably get any of the Jacksonville wr's later than usual...as most expect the passing game to be hurt by the loss of J.Smith. Still, if they pass they have to pass to someone...and right now the top target seems to be Matt Jones.

This isn't really about a Jags "receiver", but I think that Marcedes Lewis could pick up a good deal of the slack left over by Jimmy Smith's retirement.

I love Lewis as a TE2. Reggie Williams might start the year as a starter, but Wilford's going to be the better producer. Williams just can't get off the ball and lacks speed.
