| Outlaw | I've heard a lot of various commentary on which NFL division will be the most difficult to compete in. The two that seem to stand out the most in sportswriters and commentators minds seem to be NFC divisions. Namely, the NFC East and NFC South. Personally, I consider the NFC South to be the NFL's most competitive division at the moment. But what do you all think? |

| Outlaw | Just because the division is tough doesn't mean that one of those teams will automatically win the Super Bowl. If anything, I'd say it was less likely, both from a record standpoint and from a conditioning standpoint. |

The toughest division could end up with a champ that has an 11-5 record, but the most competitive division may end up with 3 teams with that record. Toughest division, IMO -- NFC West. The Steelers, Ravens, Browns and Bengals could end up nearly tied.

| who me? Admin | I can see the arguement for the NFC West. Last year's record does not matter.
That said, I still think the toughest division is the NFC East. Every team in this division cannot be ruled out of not only a playoff spot, but a shot at representing the NFC in the Superbowl. |

| Who Me? Admin | I'm just not buying the NFC West crap. No way, the Hawks are the class of an otherwise forgetable division. The Cards will compete and end up with a nice record, but if you place then in most other divisons they would be out classed. As far as top to bottom, who is the best division in the NFL, I think it's a 2 division race, and at the moment, I'll give the edge to: NFC East - Giants, Cowboys, and Skins could all compete to be the NFC champion IMO. And Philly is not too far behind, and could finish up better then the skins who are a tad behind the other 2 IMO. The next is the AFC North: The QB's will end up being fine and this division will peak around mid season., Te battle for the division will be fierce. The Steelers, Bengals, and Ravens will all fight for the title and you won't be able to count out any of them if they get to the playoffs. The Browns are and up and coming team, and if if wasn't for their division strength could make a little more noise year. however, they will pull a couple big upsets this year that will effect the playoff battle IMO. The next tier goes to the AFC West & NFC South, I think both of these divisions top to bottom are a step behind these other 2.

| Deputy Premium Member Forum Leader | NFC East. All four teams will beat the hell out of each other, but one will win the NFC championship. Write it down now. Close second.....AFC North....Steelers still solid, Bengals and Ravens have only improved their weaknesses, and Cleveland will win more than they should, thanks to Romeo. I can see arguements for the NFC south. Tampa, Carolina will both be in the playoff hunt. Atlanta will have a stellar defense. N.O. will be improved, but not enough. West will be a three horse show... Only in the NFC East will you have all four with legit chances to win the whole dang thing.

| Richest Vman Alive Forum Leader | every division in the nfc? you cant make any case at all for the nfc west, which just sucks. and the nfc north, even if minnesota really is this good, still has two awful teams. you can make a case for the nfc east, but it wont be as good of a case now as it should have been, by the offseason look. id say they are a clear 3rd behind the nfc south and afc west. |
