This is the official Super Bowl thread, and we got plenty time to talk about it.

Date- February 6th, 2005
Location - Jacksonville, Florida
Time - 6:30 PM ET
Channel - FOX

For the Eagles, this is their first trip to the Super Bowl since losing it 24 years ago. For the Patriots, they are gunning for their 3rd Super Bowl victory in 4 years. This should be a very good game to watch.

Prediction - Patriots win 38-31

I guess the big question for this game at the moment is the playing status of Terrell Owens. There was a chance he would be ready, but I dont think anything has been made official. With or without him, I think the Eagles still lose.

There is no way in hell im going against Tom Brady/Bill Belicheck and the PAtriots any time soon. I think the Pats will win but win in a close one 7-10 points. remember they only won their sb victories by 3 points each. One in a defensive battle and the second in an offensive shootout. The Eagles I think have a better defense than that PAnthers or Rams team. I also think this is the best Patriots team out of the 3.

Im taking the pats 31-20

Chad Lewis is out for the Super Bowl, not good news for Philly. Lewis has been key in the Eagles playoff drive.

Okay... anyone else find it funny that Zepp predicts a Patriots victory margin of 7-10 points and then later in the post gives a specific prediction that is an 11 point margin of victory... Someone has minor difficulties with math!

I would LOVE to go with the Eagles here. LOVE to. However, things need to happen. One they need a really healthy Owens. Two, they need to be able to shut down Corey, AND break up Brady's timing. If the Eagles had a solid stuff it up the middle running game like Pittsburgh, I would say they could win. That is not Philly's style though.

Man......I gotta say New England but I don't see a huge score here. I see 20 - 17.

No just called laziness. I said 7-10 but then started thinking of the score and couldnt find a score that I thought could happen so I said F it and just gave it an 11....same ballpark.

Thats right!!! Those damn Patriots don't scare the Eagles. McNabb is the man and he can handle anything they bring to him.

Let me ask. And this is not with much thought. But have the Patriots dealt with a QB such as McNabb he is not a pocket QB so don't expect him to just sit back there waiting for someone to open up. If he sees the opening he will go.

This is a good point, although there really isnt alot of QB's out there that have the nice combination of talent that McNabb has.

However, the Patriots have a defense that is disciplined and I dont expect them to get burned by McNabb's ability to run. What they do have is the speed up front to run him down when he tries to escape.

Jeff Thomason has been signed by the Eagles to replace the spot Chad Lewis was taking on the roster. Thomason has been out of the NFL for 2 years, but this late in the season, there isnt much available on the FA market.

To be honest, I am kind of suprised that the NFL allows signings like this, being this late in the season.

Nicholete is asking the same question I'm thinking about. And I don't think the Patriots have played a meaningfull game against the likes of D. McNabb.

I want anyone BUT the Patriots to win. But, win they shall, BIG. Over 48 and Pats -17.5 (+300).

The Eagles dont stand a chance in this game. Brady will pick this defense apart.

Parody = mocking view of a topic in a comical nature. Example Mad TV skits or SNL skits..

Parity = equal or level grounds to compete.
