Donate | Here are some player updates, with many more, including IDP to follow shortly. ***Week 9 Inactives*** Offense Quarterbacks - David Garrard, JAC - Garrard has been named the starter for week 9.
- Byron Leftwich, JAC - HC Jack Del Rio has downgraded Leftwich to Questionable for week 9.
- Tom Brady, NEP - practiced on Wednesday and will start as normal this weekend.
- Trent Green, KCC - Green is still out for week 9, but there is a slight chance at him being able to go in week 10.
- Green will be used as the third QB in week 9. This is better evidence that he is close to coming back.
- Matt Hasselbeck, SEA -Hasselbeckdid not practice on Wednesday and will not play this weekend.
- Mark Brunell, WAS - Brunell practiced on Wednesday and is expected to play this weekend.
- Charlie Frye, CLE - Frye hurt his thumb in Saturday's walkthrough. Expected to play.
Running Backs - Maurice Jones-Drew, JAC - Jones-Drew did not practice on Wednesday but is still expected to play this weekend.
- Fred Taylor, JAC - Taylor did not practice on Wednesday but is still expected to play this weekend.
- Dominic Rhodes, IND - Rhodes practiced on Wednesday and is listed as questionable for this weekend, but he is expected to play.
- Ahman Green, GBP - Green was rested on Wednesday but is still expected to play this weekend.
- Green practiced on Thursday and Friday and should play this week.
- Vernand Morency, GBP - Morency is expected to miss the next two weeks with a back injury. Noah Herron is expected to back up starter Ahman Green.
- Priest Holmes, KCC - Holmes wants to play and he wants to do it in 2006. Holmes, who is currently on the PUP list, hasn't played since week 7 of the 2005 season when he suffered a severe neck injury. Carl Peterson, Chiefs' President and GM refuses to make a prediction regarding the RB saying, "Other times before, there were a lot of media, a lot of fans that said he would never, never play football again when he had his hip surgery and he came back and scored (27) touchdowns, set the NFL record."
- Reggie Bush, NOS - Bush did not practice on Wednesday and is listed as Questionable, but is still expected to play in week 9.
- Reggie Bush returned to practice on Thursday
- Clinton Portis, WAS - Portis practiced on Wednesday and is expected to play this weekend.
- Portis practiced well on Friday and should start today.
- Curtis Martin, NYJ - Martin has decided to end his comeback attempt for 2006. He was placed on the Reserved/PUP list Wednesday. This means that Martin cannot play again in 2006, and it more than likely means that he will retire, although that has not been stated yet.
- Shaun Alexander, SEA - Alexander is still out for week 9.
- Maurice Hicks, SFR -Hicks suffered a concussion in week 8 and is listed as Questionable for this week. It does not look like he will play.
- Laurence Maroney, NE - (thigh) added to injury report as questionable. Maroney missed part of practice on Thursday.
- Maroney practiced well on Friday, should play without any problems.
- Mike Bell, DEN - Mike Bell is expected to start and get the majority of carries.
- Mike Bell will indeed start according to Fox Sports
- Lamont Jordan, OAK - Jordan has practiced all week and should start today.
- Justin Fargas, OAK - Fargas did not practice on Friday and will be a gametime decision.
- Derrick Wimbush, JAX - Jaguars fullback is out. This iwill impact the Jaguars running game.
Wide Receivers- Chad Johnson, CIN - Since Chad couldn’t back up his mouth with his play, he lost a bet with Falcons CB DeAngelo Hall, and had to shave off his blonde Mohawk. "The whole deal last week was if we lost to Atlanta that I would cut the Mohawk, but if we won, then DeAngelo would have to work at Big Willy's Fatburger," Johnson said of teammate Willie Anderson's Atlanta restaurant.
- Brandon Stokely, IND - did not practice on Wednesday and is not expected to play this weekend.
- Joe Horn, NOS - Horn did not practice on Wednesday and is questionable for this weekend, but is expected to play in week 9.
- Horn missed portions of practice again on Thursday
- Joe Horn is Inactive today
- Greg Jennings, GBP - Jennings was limited in practice on Wednesday and is listed as Questionable on the team’s injury report, but there is still a chance he can play in week 9. Watch for more updates.
- Greg Jennings practiced on Thursday, should start if he can practice on Friday
- Greg Jennings is continuing to experience soreness with his hamstring injury. His playing status is in doubt.
- Jennings is active today.
- Ernest Wilford, JAC - Wilford practiced on Wednesday and is expected to play this weekend.
- Matt Jones, JAC - Jones is no longer on the injury list and will start in place of Wilford in week 9.
- Marcus Robinson, MIN - Robinson missed practice on Wednesday and is listed as Questionable for week 9.
- Robinson has been ruled out of this weeks game.
- Plaxico Burress, NYG - Burress left practice early on Wednesday with back spasms and was added to the injury list as Probable. He is expected to play this week.
- Burress missed 11 on 11 practices on Thursday.
- Burress did not practice again on Friday and has been downgraded to Questionable. This is not a good sign. Watch for more updates.
- Burress will be a game time decision today.

- Tim Carter, NYG - Carter will get the start today if Burress cannot go.

- Darrell Jackson - also missed Thursday's practice, still expected to play on Monday Night.
- Santonio Holmes, PIT - Holmes practiced on Wednesday and is expected to play this weekend.
- Cedrick Wilson, PIT - Wilson practiced on Wednesday and is expected to play this weekend.
- Santana Moss, WAS - Moss missed practice on Wednesday and is listed as Questionable for the game against Dallas.
- Santana Moss has been downgraded to "out".
- Bobby Wade, TEN- Wade suffered a separated shoulder in week 8, but is expected to play this week even though he is listed as Questionable on the team’s injury list.
- David Givens, TEN - Givens practiced on Wednesday and it looks like he will return to the lineup this week, but be careful as he has a tough match-up.
- Brandon Lloyd, WAS - Lloyd missed part of practice on Thursday with a shoulder injury, added to injury report as "probable".
- Terry Glenn, DAL - Glenn missed practice on Friday with a quadriceps injury. Listed as probable.
- Bobby Engram, SEA - Engram will most likely sit for his 4th straight game because of his thyroid condition. He did practice with the practice squad on Friday, but HC Mike Holmgren does not want to set him back.
- David Givens, TEN - Inactive today
- Brandon Jones, TEN - Expected to start in place of Givens.
- Terrance Copper, NO - Copper will start today for the Saints.
Tight Ends - Kellen Winslow, CLE - Winslow has been listed as Questionable for most of the season, but still leads the league in TE receptions. Expect him to play in week 9.
- Ben Utecht, IND - Like everyone else in the Indy-New England game, Utecht is listed as Questionable on the injury report, but is expected to play in this big game.
- Ernie Conwell, NOS - Conwell did not practice on Wednesday and will not play this weekend.
- Vernon Davis, SFR - Davis did not practice on Wednesday and is not expected to play this weekend, but x-rays revealed that his leg is almost fully healed and he has a shot to play in week 10..
- Todd Heap, BAL - Heap (thigh) was added to the injury report as "questionable" after missing practice on Thursday.
- Heap has been upgraded to Probable, even though he did not practice.
- Jeb Putzier, HOU - Putzier is a suprise inactive. Was not on the injury report.
Kickers- Adam Vinatieri, NEP - Vinatieri practiced on Wednesday but is questionable for this weekend as is everyone else in this game. He will definitely play in the game against his old team, bet on it.
- Vinatieri was upgraded to probable on Friday, will play.
Defense Defensive Line - James Hall, DET - (shoulder) Gametime decision. It is Hall's decision whether to play or not.
- Simeon Rice, TB - (knee) Expected to play
- Simeon Rice, TB - Rice did not practice on Friday and is listed as Questionable, but is expected to start today.
- Kevin Williams, MIN - Missed practice all week, unlikely to play.
- Pat Williams, MIN - Practiced on Friday and upgraded to probable.
- Casey Hampton, PIT - Upgraded to probable, should start.
- Travis Laboy, TEN - Laboy will start this week, had a very impressive game last week.
- Antwan Odom, TEN - Out this week
- Gerard Warren, DEN - Warren practiced all week and will play today.
- Ellis Wyms, TB - Wyms did not practice on Friday and is listed as Questionable, but is expected to start today.
- Igor Olshansky, SDC - Olshansky practiced on Friday and should play today.
- John Abraham, ATL - Abraham has been ruled out for week 9 as he continues to recover from a groin injury.
Defensive Backs - Charles Woodson, GB - Expected to see limited playing time, will not return punts.
- Antonio Cromartie, SD - Will continue to see playing time, rotating with Florence after covering Holt well last week.
- Keith Davis, DAL - Davis will be the starting free safety this week for the Cowboys.
- Travis Fisher, STL - Practiced Friday and will start.
- Sam Madison, NYG - Not expected to play.
- Bob Sanders, IND - Practiced Thursday, but missed Friday's practice. Not expected to play.

Linebackers- Dexter Coakley, STL - Coakley expected to get the start at weakside linebacker this week.

- Ahmad Brooks, CIN - The Cincinnati Post has reported that Ahmad Brooks will likely start the remainder of the season.

- Brian Simmons, CIN - downgraded to doubtful, likely out.
