An AFC West battle between second- (Denver, 7-3) and third-place teams (Kansas City, 6-4). The Chiefs have won five of the past seven second meetings between the clubs. KC will send the league's top rusher, Larry Johnson (1,045 yards), against Denver's No. 5 NFL rushing defense. Kansas City played host to three Thanksgiving games in its AFL days. "It's a feather in the cap for Arrowhead Stadium," Chiefs founder Lamar Hunt said.
-------------------------------------

Another story line to be followed in this game will be this weeks reports concerning a possible quarterback change in Denver.

Like the way the Chiefs come out onto the field, down the chute surrounded by the Red Coaters and Cheerleaders. Pretty Cool

seems like thats a foregone conclusion at this point anyways, and this is their last chance to do it since theyve got 10 days to get ready for the home game vs seattle. still, home seattle then at san diego for a brand new rookie, and a team that may fall to 7-4 and the last wildcard spot after tonight? doenst sound like much of a recipe for success to me.

well mike bell was worthless, but he got me 5 which was at least more than julius jones. and my opponent had tatum and ronnie who got a combined 7, so i'll take it.

broncos really in somewhat of a freefall i think. plummers clearly going to be pulled for cutler and sure hes got 10 days to get ready, but then its the seahawks and then at san diego. two weeks ago the broncos were 7-2 and the two seed in the afc, playing well and sitting pretty. now they're 7-4 and will be the #6 team in the afc, and two tough games coming up. even if they can somehow win one of those two, its 8-5 and will be tough to make the playoffs. lose both and its over. dont know what happened here.

team didnt even really try to establish the run tonight and just has no identity on offense right now. this is a crushing loss for them. i think the seasons on the brink.

It's a lose/lose situation in DEN. If they stick with Plummer, they play the same as they have the last 3 weeks....bad. If they go with Cutler, I think he will be a "deer in the headlights". He's never played at this level and I don't think the team is good enugh to compensate for all the growing pains he's about to have.
So after Sunday DB can keep my Pats above DEN.

I get the feeling that Shanahan doesn't feel his team is good enough to succeed in the playoffs with Plummer under center, which makes it worth rolling the dice if he feels comfortable with Cutler's ability.

As long as Cutler doesn't panic with the starting role, he brings the element of surprise to teams while they scramble to learn his playing style.
