Looks like a 7 year deal has been agreed on.

So, does this seal the deal for Alexander to be released? Cant see them being able to get a deal done with Hasselbeck and still being able to keep Alexander.

What's their cap situation? This means that they could use their franhise tag on someone other than Jones this year.

Wow, nice move by Seattle. They need Walter Jones and he will only help the offense. I also think this puts a fork in either Hasselbeck or Alexander. With all the other needs, I can't believe they can resign both.

Which one would you let go ? Alexander or Hasselback ? I think I would have to let Alexander go, you can get a decent RB to fill a hole, but in the NFL if you don't have a pretty good QB (which I think Hasselback is) then there is no way you will win that often.

In THIS case, I agree with keeping Hasselback. Not because I like hasselback, but because they have NO ONE to fall back on if he leaves, and the west coast offense is very hard on a young QB to learn. I think they can replace Alexander more easily.

according to what I have read, the top priorities were Hasselbeck and Jones. Therefore, its either franchise tag, or goodbye for Alexander.

And then, there are still 14 more free agents to decide on.
