The Bears, who have been winning with their defense, could find themselves more vulnerable on defense than they have been all season. It is not known if Nathan Vasher will be able to play on Monday night. It is know that Tommie Harris will not be in the lineup drawing his normal double teams and terrorizing quarterbacks. The Bears defense normally struggles against teams #1 receivers. Without Vasher, and without Harris on the line, this could turn into a great day for Torry Holt, and a very possible upset by the Rams.

Chicago may have to rely on Grossman and the offense to score some points in this game.

Talk about the game here,

Bet on the game here.

Keep you eyes on Grossman's play in this one. Griese has been taking 1/3 of the snaps with the starters this week and could very possibly take over in this game if Grossman doesn't play well.

Something else to add, and this may in fact end up being nothing, but as mistake prone as Grossman is, knowing that the team is preparing Griese could have a big affect on what little confidence he has. If you listened to him speak to the press this week, you probably realized that he appears to have no confidence in himself at all.

Rams need to hit hit the Bears early in this game, disrupt Grossman heavily, get an early lead, then protect the ball. Big emphasis on protecting the ball.

Any opinions on whether Grossman will still have a starting job after halftime?

Will the pressure put on Grossman be just what he needs to improve his play?

i think the bears best shot is to stick with grossman and play the rest of the sesaon out. he has earned it imo.

which is why im rooting for griese.

Not real sure what he has done to earn it at this point. The Bears offense does look like a sinking ship, and I have always liked Greise. With this D, they can win with Greise, he won't make the mistakes Grossman does.

There were quite a few times when the clock should have stopped but it wouldn't have helped the Rams, anyway. There were a couple of good fights off to our left in the stands. The Rams fans won those easily and the Bears fans that were involved were pepper sprayed, cuffed and hauled away. You just don't shove St. Louis' finest and expect to get away with it. The Rams have without a doubt the worst secondary in the league. Tye Hill has been a huge first round bust. They need to hire Toby Wright as a tackling coach.

And what is with all the dump passes to Jackson? On at least five of those passes, Bruce was wide open while Holt was double covered. I thought Davis had some very good carries while Jackson was nursing is cramped calf. Barron was getting pushed all over the place. I guess he didn't pay any attention to what Bulger had to say last week. As of right now, the Rams have only one Pro-Bowler on the squad and that is Punter Matt Turk. How sad.

i dont see any way that torry holt and steven jackson arent pro bowl locks. also in the nfc, isnt marc bulger a pro bowler? brees will be there for sure. but after that its probably between romo, vick, and bulger for three spots. personally i think bulgers played well enough to have a spot.

team just needs to get a defense. they looked good through four or five games and then hasletts crew just totally fell apart.

The Bears had a good strategy for this game. Their QB sucks, their offense sucks, so when all else fails.......

JUST GIVE THE BALL TO THE GUY FROM THE U

Do you think a bad call ultimately saved Rex Grossman's job for now?

I don't see how you can call the overturned play before halftime anything but a fumble. I think reversing that call ultimately changed the course of the game because the Rams offense was working, and that was the chance for the Rams to go up on the Bears and put pressure on the defense, and Grossman, to score.

Instead, the Bears keep the ball, ultimately punt, then they are blessed with another call where the clock kept running when it should have stopped, again changing the course of action for the Rams in the two minute offense.

Playing with a lead, or playing from behind generally changes your approach to the game. It clearly changes Grossman's approach to the game because when he is behind, he presses. When he presses, he makes huge mistakes.

Had that call stood as a fumble, like it should have, I think we very likely would have seen a quarterback change after halftime.

Actually, as long as the QB's arm is moving forward with the ball, they will always call it an incomplete pass, and the ball was still in his hand, as his arm was moving forward.

His arm was knocked forward by the contact though. It was clear that he was not moving the ball forward on his own.

NFL and common sense are separating themselves from each other more and more every year.

That is about as fine a point as you can try to put on something. I guess we will have to agree to disagree, because I would have ruled on this one as they did.

I gotta agree. To expect a ref at real time to be able to differentiate between arm moving forward by QB or hit..is alot to ask. From what I saw, I thought his arm was moving forward as well.

I thought the ref did a good job on the field as it was ruled a fumble. I just did not see any sign of that arm going forward on it's own.
