At most theyd owe him $7.25 million that would accelarate against this years cap. Im willing to bet just to get out of Tampa hed negotiate a settlement.

And hes not the best pure passer on this roster. I told you (nash) years ago hed never make it big in the NFL because he flops in big games and in the NFL almost every game is a big game.

Oh come one, he is the best passer on the team. He just can't move in the pocket, take a hit, make clutch plays, make smart decisions, learn to read zone coverage, learn to read man coverage, read the blitz, learn the playbook, call an audible, not freak out at the sight of a blitzing 180 lbs DB, or wipe his own ass. But he does have the best arm on the team.

Garcia Might Holdout For A Contract Extension

This could end up having a significant impact on the order of Tampa Bay quarterbacks once the season starts.

Garcia wants an extension to his contract (he is in the last year of a two year deal) that will bring his total payout up to the league average for starters.

The problem? Currently there are no contract negotiations going on and the Bucs don't appear to be too concerned with even opening up conversations about an extension.

If they were smart, they would appease him for this season, and give him some incentives for next year with a clause allowing him to accept or opt out. That way they could get another guy ready. Griese can't give them what Garcia can, and this team only remains a playoff potential team with Garcia at the helm.

I thought of this upon reading this thread, but didn't give it any additional thought, until this.............
-- Could Brett Favre Return as a Buccaneer? --
Wed May 14, 2008 --from FFMastermind.com
The Press Gazette reports QB Brett Favre knows the Packers are looking forward, so if he gets the itch to play again, it likely would be for a team desperate for a quarterback and willing to make GM Ted Thompson a tempting trade offer. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers might be just such a team. The Bucs were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs last season, so adding Favre could push them to Super Bowl-contending status. It doesn't hurt that Bucs HC Jon Gruden worked with Favre as an offensive assistant in Green Bay, or that Tampa Bay's offense would be somewhat familiar. Would Thompson be willing to endure the public relations fallout? Then again, would Thompson be doing his job properly if he was offered a first-round draft choice and didn't seriously consider it? Thompson repeatedly has said he places the Packers' long-term future above public sentiment, but that philosophy would be severely tested.
-----------------------------------------
Just say no Brett!

Im not for anyone trashing their legacy. He lived a packer, he should die a packer in my opinion. But if the man wants to go play some place else yet let his organization move on....who am I to stop him.
