Dilemma between Brees and Schuab

Im fighting for my playoff life right now and I cant afford a mistake this week. I need to know who to start: Brees or Schuab for wk 13.

The only reason I would start Schuab is because the team im playing has Andre Johnson and I want to cancel out his production.

Is this a good strategy?

Canceling wr to qbs are not good strategies in my opinion. You likely get more points for recieving yards and in some cases recieving tds rather than passing yards/tds. So if Shaub goes for 200 yards and 1 td and 140 plus the td of them go to Johnson you're hosed on overall points.

Best strategy is play the best match-ups. I'd be scared to start Brees after the beating Tampa put on the Redskins last weekend. Shaub has been very stable lately so I'd go with Shaub.

I'd go with Schaub especially if Haynesworth is still out.

Don't play to cancel points, you always want more points. How many points does your league give you for passing and receiving touchdowns? Most leagues give 4 pts for passing and 6 for receiving TD's. If this is the case, play Brees since he has a higher probability of getting you more TD's...Also, are you in a PPR league? Definitely, play Brees if you're in a PPR league...Otherwise, go with Schaub. Good QB's have been able to throw on the Bucs and Brees is a good QB in my opinion...Also, Schaub is only a great play if Hayneworth is on the field...check whether he is playing or not.

Brees or Schuab

Thanks for the advice guys. I am in a PPR league and QB's get 6 pts/TD which is the same for W/R's. The overall rankings are pointing to me to start Brees.

I'd start Brees in a PPR league. He may not score but he'll dump and dink all day to Johnson and Bush. 1 catch here, another there plus he has some good weapons....

whodey, ppr (reception) only affects those catching the ball. ppc (point per completion) gives the qb points for those dinks and dunks.

i would lean towards schaub, but brees on my bench last week cost me victory, so who knows?

Brees does not play well at home and he has a tough match-up against the TB D who is fifth in the league against the pass.
