Keeper Questions?

I've been playing ff for awhile, but joined my 1st keeper league last year . . . our redraft is coming up in mid August so I've got some time and will even get to see some preseason games before I have to decide, but I guess I just want some reassurance that I'm thinking the right way and to also see what other's think . . . our starting positions are QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, W/T, W/R, K, D, D, DB, DB, DL, DL . . . QB TD's are 4 pts and WR/RB/TE are scored evenly . . . I need to pick 3 of the following:

Reggie Wayne
Andre Johnson
Brandon Marshall
Deion Branch
Derrick Mason

Ronnie Brown
Lendale White
Rudi Johnson
Kenny Watson
Chester Taylor
Adrian Peterson (chicago)

Jay Cutler
Eli Manning

Ben Watson
Owen Daniels

etc, etc . . . I'm not keeping my kicker or IDP players much less my QB's or TE's although I like my QB's, but they can be had in later rounds . . . and I know, my RB's suck for the most part and my team survived on WR's last year . . . I snagged Ronnie Brown off waivers right before the end of the season and am starving for info on him . . . lol.

As it is right now, I'm planning on keeping Reggie Wayne and Andre Johnson . . . I'm waivering between Ronnie Brown and Brandon Marshall for my 3rd, but both have different issues that have been talked about extensively on the boards . . . I'm also trying to work a trade for Clinton Portis . . . the latest offer is my 1st round pick . . . the Portis owner came back with this offer and I like to have fell out . . . lol . . . I'm trying to see if the commish, et al will even allow it . . . trying to work another trade for Marshawn Lynch . . . that owner also has Westbrook, Jackson (he traded McGahee for during the season) and Braylon Edwards so he's got more studs than he can take anyways . . . my latest offer for Lynch is Brown and White and / or Marshall . . . not sure if it's gonna work out though . . . it's kinda ridiculous since he can't take those players with him, but he actually got me into this league, so maybe he'll give me a break . . . lol.

I draft 10th so not sure what is gonna be left for me at that point . . . I'm hoping to be able to hold out as long as possible to see what players will be available before I announce my 3 keepers. . . . Preseason can't start soon enough . . . lol . . . but anyways, give me your thoughts and feedback on my thoughts . . . I would greatly appreciate it . . .

Keep your WR Corps intact. There is no one else on your roster that you cant do as good or better at later on, but you wont get 3 #1 WRs in the draft.

yeah, all my RB's including Brown are ranked at the end of round 3 or later . . . some much later . . . lol . . . I'm fearing what might be left at RB though after the equivalent of 3 rounds (3 keepers each) and I might not even get Brown back at the end of the 1st round of the draft (essentially the 4th) . . . that's why it's kinda depending on what everyone else is keeping . . . trying my damndest to work a RB trade to keep with Wayne and Johnson.

Yeah but Brown wont be the same back, at least initially, and hes in a RBBC with Ricky Williams, who is looking like the 1800 yard beast of old so far.

Youve got 3 #1 WRs who each have the potential to catch 100 passes and 10 TDs each. Dont give that away. Your WRs that put up 50 points a week will give you a massive advantage.

I think trying to get a Lynch or Portis is a great idea and you should work on that. Having a top back to keep is an excellent move. Just don't get your self screwed to do it.

just a follow up . . . the commish doesn't think Portis for my 1st pick is an even trade and won't pass thru the vote, which I would tend to agree . . . I'm offering White with my 1st pick to the owner to see if he'll accept . . . I doubt he'll even keep White, but it might allow the trade to go thru . . .

I'm also asking the commish in this scenario, wouldn't that mean I would get 4 keepers so after the 1st round everyone would have 4 players . . . makes sense to me, but I could be wrong.

Ronnie Brown is about a 3rd round value, Reggie Wayne and Andre Johnson are 2nd. Brandon Marshall however has been typically mid 4th, I would keep Ronnie Brown and release Brandon Marshall.

that's the thinking that has me waivering . . . lol . . . if I had to make my mind up today, I'd probably go this way because if I really wanted Marshall he'd probably still be there with all the bad publicity that's going on . . . then again, Brown might be also with the uncertainty of his knee.

Luckily, I've got until mid August and can at least see how things evolve in preseason with Brown. I'm really not concerned with a possible suspension for Marshall though as all I have to do is make the playoffs and he's there making points for me . . .
