A trade just went through the night of our draft, which I think is just ludicrous. There are some arguments following this trade in our league. Please comment.

Team A (The Commissioner) Receives:

WR Braylon Edwards (Round 2, 21st overall) AND
RB Darren Mcfadden (Round 4, 45th overall)

Team B Receieves:

WR Kevin Curtis (Round 7, 78th overall) AND
RB Julius Jones (Round 9, 102nd overall)

Id protest

wow, I'm not for blocking of trades unless there is clear collusion between owners, but on this one I'd say it's pretty clear. I'd fight like hell on this one.

That is a crappy trade. If you can protest, do so. I feel bad actually posting though, since I "stole" Frank Gore and Willie Parker for Alge Crumpler and the Eagles D/ST in my league...

if team b wanted those players so badly, why didn't he just draft them before McFadden and Edwards? He didn't even draft them with his 5th or 6th picks.... now he's willing to give up a 2nd round selection and 4th round selection for those guys?

This looks like collusion. Its a shame that your commissioner is pulling shenanigans like this.

Ya, its pretty ridiculous, though Team A Is arguing that Jones is far better then Mcfadden, and Curtis is up there with Braylon. Every way I spin it, I can't see how this is even possible.

Horrible trade. Both Braylon and McFadden have higher ceilings than Curtis and Jones. Jones should share carries and may not even start every week. Curtis could start slow again with McNabb.

The only way you can see this as a fair trade is if you are deathly afraid of Braylon regressing with the Browns, and McFadden failing in Oakland this season. Even then, who's scared enough to swap them out for Jones and Curtis?

This kind of trade really makes me sick as a fantasy player. Id protest. Id rally the other teams to protest. There is obviously something going on here between the owners. This is one of those situations where if it weren't rectified, then I would consider withdrawing from the league or leaving the league after the season ends. I have a feeling that Team B is severely inexperienced. But the fact that it is your commissioner making this trade sickens me even more.

I am a big believer in allowing all trades to go through.

Looking at this trade though, I would definitely vote it down if the opportunity was there, and considering the commissioner is involved in this trade, I would probably just quit immediately, or even if the trade got vetoed, I would leave it after this season at the latest.
