But OK, take out Rua and here's your comment: Quote:
And I still contend that right now, Rampage is the most ready to defeat him......the fighter that is still getting the run around instead of a shot to regain his title.

| I'll give you that Rampage is probably more deserving of a title shot and apparently the UFC offered him a shot but Rampage turned it down in order to coach TUF again. Quinton Jackson and Rashad Evans to coach heavyweights-only 10th season of "TUF" | MMAjunkie.com <--Read the update at the bottom. So I'd have to say that Rampage is dancing around Machida and the UFC was left with only one viable candidate to fight for the title next, that being Rua. |

timing is bad here then...you really need a fighter who has won his last fight. Rua becomes the lead possibility I guess.....I would have rather them wait for Forest to fight Silva then, if he wins, he should get the fight. oh well, got to say, I lose some respect for Rampage here....

| Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum Premium Member Forum Leader | Good Question Danny, and glad to see another MMA fan in here with us. Right now I just see an almost "perfect storm" which has log jammed the UFC 205 division. This is what you have going down in the next few months: Forest Griffin vs Anderson Silva Dan Henderson (at 185) vs Michael Bisping Ramage Jackson tied up on The Ultimate Fighter Evans isnt going to get a return shot Franklin vs W. Silva at what strangely is listed as 195..... Pretty much leaves a guy who honestly hasnt earned another title shot facing Machida for the title. Since the major players at 205 are tied up right now, Id say give the match to 10-3 Brandon Vera. Vera is a better fighter at 205, you get name draw, and Machida kicks the shit out of him and moves on. I anticipate Griffin or Jackson getting the next shot at Machida at 205. This scenario lets everything play out over the next few months and we move on. |

| Ain't happening Sarge. No one will pay to see Vera fight Machida at this point. The only situation in the 205 class that concerns me right now is A. Silva and Machida being reluctant to fight one another. Everything else is working out great for the fans and the fighters IMO... -We get to see an awesome matchup between 2 of the best 205ers ever to compete in MMA, Machida and Rua. -We get to see the always entertaining Jackson coach another season of TUF. There's already bad blood between him and Evans so it'll make for good TV IMO. -We get to see Jackson and Evans beat the hell out of each other at the end of the season. This is a great matchup. -Dana is smart not to have Jackson fight Machida right now, it would be a lose/lose situation for all parties involved. This fight will happen, all in goodtime. -Silva vs Forrest should be a good one and will tell us alot about Silva @ 205. -T. Silva vs Jardine will be entertaining, the winner will be back in the mix. Goodtimes ahead for the LHW division, especially if everyone is willing to fight everyone. |
