| "Child, please." Admin | Spider Silva rumors Dana White had some very interesting comments on inside the Octagon last night during the Ultimate finale. He stated that Silva needs to be challenged to be interested and that is why he put the fight together with Forest, Forest will make him fight, and that is what Dana is looking for. however, Dana stated that Silva had made it clear that he wants to stay at 185 so in the mean time White is working on some options at that class. When asked if he had anyone in mind Dana was very open and stated yes, Vitor Belfort. White feels that if Belfort's head is in the right place he can definitely challenge Silva. White went onto talk about a possible superfight with GSP, and stated that before that is a possibility he believes one has to clear out their own division and for GSP that starts with Alvez. |

| "Child, please." Admin | I'm all for it, but before I see it, I'd like to see Belfort fight another top 185er in the UFC. Couple scenario's that would make sense to me: Bisping wins at 100 and fights Belfort....winner gets Silva Since I don't see Bisping winning you could just bring him in for a qualifying fight against Marquardt or a guy I think would give Silva a nice fight as well, Damian Maia. If he wins, set it up for Silva. |

| "Child, please." Admin | By the way, a little off subject, but any idea what has happened to Okami?? He is 7-1 in the UFC from 06-08, but his last fight was Dec and have not heard of anything else for him.....he would be another interesting Belfort fight. Just not sure I want to see Belfot brought over for a first fight back title opp. |

| Okami got hurt and I believe he owns the only win over Silva in the UFC via DQ for what its worth. I'd love to see Belfort get the Bisping/Hendo winner to line up a shot for the title. Last edited by German CTL; 06-21-2009 at 10:10 PM. |

Belfort is one of those guys that has all of the tools physically but has always struggled with the mental part of the fight game. As a result, he's battled weight issues and lacked focus throughout his career. He went from fighting at heavyweight (which is ridiculous) a few years back, to light heavyweight and now he's made the jump down to what I think is his proper fighting weight of 185lbs. He's reeled off 4 straight wins, one of which was a brutal KO against one of the greatest middleweights of time, Matt Lindland. He's fighting a tough opponent in Jorge Santiago at Affliction Trilogy on 8/1/09, a fight he should win if he truly is over his mental problems. | |
