Sting to Possibly Retire at Years End.

Quote:
-- TNA is planning for the possibility of Sting retiring when his current contract expires at the end of the year. Company officials want to give him a proper sendoff after watching what WWE did for Ric Flair. Although, Sting has not indicated whether he plans to retire from professional wrestling at the end of the year. At Slammiversary, the plan for Sting is to give an interview pondering his future in wrestling.
I never really gave Sting a whole lot of thought. I was WWE all the way my whole life, so I never really bought into the WCW product.

Sting has a legacy with older fans, but his being in TNA or in hiding since the WCW fall really has shaved a bunch off his relevancy in my eyes. Flair had been in the limelight for so many years he was still "fresh"

Still, a classy send off for Sting would be nice.

Sting may be the greatest wrestler of the modern era to never wrestle in WWE, which saddens me. However, a classy sendoff is only appropriate for a man who helped shape the modern era of wrestling.

It wasnt his way, but imagine Triple H vs Sting for the WWE Championship. Sting vs the Undertaker at Wrestlemania, Sting vs John Cena.

What could have been and what will never be.

He's one of the few guys from the 90's in WCW that didn't abuse their bodies so bad that they're either dead or unable to wrestle anymore.
