2008 Black Knights Football - 12 wins isn't enough

I am curious to see who DiBiase's mystery partner will be.

Would love to see another 2nd or third generation type to really hype this. Say a DH Smith, who was to turn anyways...or such. I thought there was a rumor running that they were going to form a new Evolution type faction with 2nd and 3rd generation types. That would be cool to have the Tag champs as lead in to that.

WWE Championship Match

- Triple H (c) vs. John Cena
Triple H wins this match leading toward a Summerslam matchup between these 2 and Jeff Hardy.
WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match

- Edge (c) vs. Batista
Edge wins this match. WWE is still eyeing Taker vs Edge at Summerslam for the title.
ECW Championship Match

- Kane (c) vs. Big Show
Of all the matches, this one excites me the most. Could go either way here. Im taking Big Show. He jobbed to Mayweather at WM, and he came back so Im sure he was promised something.
World Tag Team Championship Match

- Cody Rhodes & Hardcore Holly (c) vs. Ted DiBiase & Mystery Partner
the going rumor is that Dibiese made a comment to fans that his partner would be the son of the Bulldog, DH Smith. I look for Dibiese and Smith to win the belts and Rhodes and Holly to break up putting them into a feud. Dibiese and Smith will battle other tag teams until DH Smith turns a "Virgil" on Dibiese and those 2 feud, ultimately leading to a Dibiese/Rhodes feud.
United States Championship Match

- Matt Hardy (c) vs. Chavo Guerrero

Again, one of the few matches where I really have no idea who wins. Chavo is still technically an ECW wrestler, but like with the tag titles, the term ECW wrestler has almost become irrelevant. Nonetheless, I look for Hardy to retain the belt.

Interesting spin on the tag title match. Of any match at this event, this is the only one where your going to get a guarenteed title change.

I think Hardy will retain the belt. He ate so much ass he is due for a run like this. Then again, remember the "Cabinet" held all the gold once, as did Evolution.

Okay, now that we have seen the draft. I think I am ready to make my predictions now.

WWE Championship Match

- Triple H (c) vs. John Cena

Triple H will win. He will carry the belt with him to Smackdown, as part of the concession of moving to Smackdown, even though it was done for his schedule at home.


WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match

- Edge (c) vs. Batista

I firmly believe Batista wins now. He will bring the Heavyweight belt over, and begin a program with Cena right away.

ECW Championship Match

- Kane (c) vs. Big Show vs. Mark Henry triple threat.

You can book this now, Kane will lose. My guess is they brought in Henry to give Big show some protection. Look for Show or Henry to win this.

World Tag Team Championship Match

- Cody Rhodes & Hardcore Holly (c) vs. Ted DiBiase & Mystery Partner
Mystery partner will be Rhodes. It will be a bell ring, rhodes nails Holly and they take the titles. Book it.

United States Championship Match

- Matt Hardy (c) vs. Chavo Guerrero

I think Hardy keeps here, as a concession of moving over. Plus both are ECW, so moving title is no gain.

Quick question on the Tag Team Match. Is Meystrio a second generation wrestler?

Im not sure I understand the question.

Rey Mysterio is a second generation guy, but Im not sure that his father ever worked for the company in any incarnation.

Im not sure how this all plays out.

Since ECW will now travel with RAW, Kane "could" keep the ECW World Championship, but I think you actually see the belt go to Mark Henry here, rewarding him with a low risk world title for his years of service.

I think the move and the fact the title match was supposed to be at Summerslam leads me toward Cena winning the WWE Championship and keeping that belt on RAW, then Edge beating Batista and allowing the La Familia storyline to conclude with the rumored split of the faction next month.

Vickie turning face puts Triple H in line to beat Edge, a guy he doesnt care for, at Summerslam for the World Heavyweight Championship, moving him into a program with the Undertaker, who is slated to return around the time La Familia breaks up.

After NOC:
World Heavyweight Champion: Edge
WWE Champion: John Cena
ECW Champion: Mark Henry

After Summerslam:
World Heavyweight Champion: Triple H
WWE Champion: John Cena/Batista
ECW Champion: Big Show

And lets not forget that another major underlying reason JR and Triple H went to Smackdown is because of the move to MyNetworkTV and the company wanting the launch to be big.

I saw this coming when Ross was moved to Smackdown and so many popular guys went to RAW. Even though they made those moves, at least for this guy, when they moved Triple H, that instantly made Smackdown the show Im guarenteed to watch every week instead of RAW, and I think thats going to be reflected across the board.

I wonder what happens to Taker now? He was scheduled to come back to get his program with Edge going again. But with HHH there, I think that might be done. Hate to see Taker not get a last chance at a long run for a title, he won't be around a whole lot longer.

He won't stop wrestling anytime soon, but you can expect it to be in spots...month here, month there, definately not a full time schedule.

I may be wrong and Triple H may float around for a couple months while Steph has the kid and the Undertaker finishes business.

Edge moved to Smackdown to get away from Triple H. Its just hard to tell what the hell is going to happen. Lest we not forget now we've got Umaga on that brand

Mysterio is a face and DiBiase is a heel, and the proposed stable will be a heel stable.

Mysterio is going to get thrust into the World Title or IC scenes almost immediately

Hardy retains. Not sure what will happen with this belt after this, or if it survives

WWE Women's Championship Match
Mickie James (c) vs. Katie Lea Burchill

I believe James retains in a hard fought match after which Nattie Neidhart cashes in her title opportunity and beats a weakened James for the title, taking it back to Smackdown.

WWE Championship Match
Triple H (c) vs. John Cena

triple H retains and takes the WWE title to Smackdown.

World Heavyweight Championship Match
Edge (c) vs Batista

Batista wins the WHC and takes it to Raw.

ECW Championship Match
Kane (c) vs. Big Show vs. Mark Henry

With the move of Kane to Raw, we know this one changes hands. Henry walks out the champ here which leads to a Show/Henry program into Summerslam.

This one is hard to say because of the Mystery partner. Originally, I believed it would be DH Smith, but the draft help squash that idea. Perhaps a Rhodes turn, but I wouldn't be shocked to see a debut superstar here. Maybe the Hart kid.

Either way, this belt stays in ECW. Im going with Hardy here, mostly due to the lack of a build up.

Im going with Mickie here. Burchill is a gap stop leading to a significant change with the Women's title.

Man I hope your right about Triple H, I just see this as a chance for them to do what theyre just itching to do and give Cena that damn belt back.
