Don Imus' Pacman Comments: Racist?

Oh no - here we go again. Not too long after his seemingly endless controversy that erupted from his "nappy headed ho" comment regarding the Rutgers Women's Bball team, radio host Don Imus appears to have stepped in it yet again. Take a listen to his comment about Adam "Pacman" Jones legal troubles:

This may not be quite as overt as “nappy-headed ho’s”, but in listening to the clip, you can sense the smirky look on Imus’ face as he replied to the answer. Put that together with the preceding “What do you expect at a nightclub?” sequence, and it looks like WABC may find out how it felt to be CBS Radio and MS-NBC in the prior controversy. Imus has not learned much since, it appears.

Imus said he was "misunderstood"

A spokesperson for Roger Goodell said that the commissioner plans to once again suspend indefinitely for allowing himself to be in a situation that allwed Imus to make a comment like this.

As Rotoworld said today: "You know you have issues when Adam 'pacman' Jones is praying for you." LOL

In all honesty I'm not sure what to make of this. It seems entirely possible that Imus had / has no idea who Pacman is. Because if he did know that he would have to realize that there may not be a worse representative for racial profiling than Mr. Jones.

Jones was arrested six times because by all appearances he deserved to be. He made it rain and asked for the money back... he bit a cop on the hand.... he is suspected in acts of violence etc.

If people are offended, they don't have to listen to him, simple as that. If enough people are offended by him, he naturally goes off the air due to no advertising.
