| Winner 6/8/08 PotD | Coming up in the east we have... the Buffalo Sabres vs. the Carolina Hurricanes. Both teams have had tremendous success in the playoffs thus far, though few hockey experts predicted them to be where they are. Carolina dispatched the Montreal Canadians then the red hot New Jersey Devils, while Buffalo defeated a Philly team overflowing with big names and the top seeded Ottawa Senators with big stars like Dany Heatly and Daniel Alfredsson. Both teams have a similar style of playing. They skate fast, hit hard, and are capable of scoring. The Sabres coach Lindy Ruff and Hurricanes coach Peter Laviolete have both done excellent jobs. Cam Ward and Ryan Miller have done excellent jobs in net. This is Ward's rookie season, and Miller's 3rd year. Eric Staal, of the Hurricanes, has come up big this year for his team and has 15 points in the playoffs. Buffalo's leading scorers are Chris Drury and Daniel Briere with 13 points apiece. Expect this to be an action packed series that will be fun for anyone to watch. But in the end, I think Buffalo will come out on top. |

| Deputy Premium Member Forum Leader | My sister in law is a season ticket holder with buffalo. I am hoping she can get some extra tickets so we can sneak up and catch a game. My oldest son is really starting to get into hockey, but all we have here in Cincinnati is maybe a minor league hockey team. I may just try and get up to Columbus to see a Blue Jackets game next year. I grew up watching the broad street bullies and going to those types of hockey games...so it is fun to see my son getting into this much quicker, flashier style of hockey. |
