On a personal note, I had a chance to get to know this kid a few years back. I found him to be very personable and willing to talk to fans. He was open about his play and appreciated the support that we gave him. He always signed autographs and posed for pictures.

I seem to remember him playing for the Ft. Myers Miracle which is a Twins minor league team down here. Like Catman said he always made appearences before the game for the fans. After the game he was one of the 3 or 4 players that would come out and stay with the fans until they stopped coming. I can'r imagine how excited those kids with his autograph must be now.

I have another personal story about this kid. When he was playing for the Quad City Bandits (Midwest League), he hit a 1-hopper into the stands, foul, that hit me in the chest. I was able to catch the ball and after the game, he came over and asked if I was OK, which I was. He asked if he could do anything for me and I asked him to autograph the ball. He asked where I wanted the signature and I said "It'll be the only one on the ball." He seemed genuinely pleased to sign the ball in the "sweet-spot". I have the ball in my display, and have no plans to sell it. He has a very nice signature, for anyone who has not seen it.
